Updating our story from yesterday about Hasbro's new 6" Marvel Legends Infinite Series Amazing-Spider-Man 2 & Captain America: Winter Soldier figures, we have new hi-res packaged images (
SHOWN BELOW IN OUR GALLERY) to show you that sheds some additional light on these new waves. Both the
Captain America The Winter Soldier Series 1 and
Amazing Spider-Man 2 Regular Wave figures are up for pre-order now at BBTS.
The new images for the
Amazing Spider-Man 2 line gives added credence to the mysterious image that showed up online last week depicting TWO waves for the series, a
REGULAR wave and an
ALTERNATE wave that will contain
3 different SWAP figures. Presumably both of these waves will include identical pieces to complete the
Ultimate Green Goblin Build-A-Figure.
Here is how the
REGULAR wave will break down based on the hi-res packaged images shown below in our
GALLERY:
- "Skyline Sirens" Black Cat (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Torso and whip
- "Spawns Of Symbiotes" Carnage (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Head and fire accessory
- Movie Amazing Spider-Man - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF left arm and fire accessory
- Movie Electro - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Right Arm & Alternate Head and fire accessory
- "Deadliest Foes" Ultimate Beetle (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Left Leg and wings
- Superior Spider-Man - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Right Leg & Alternate Hands
Based on the image that surfaced online the
ALTERNATE wave will break down as follows:
- "Skyline Sirens" Spider-Girl (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Torso
- Spawns Of Symbiotes" Toxin (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Head and fire accessory
- Amazing Spider-Man - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF left arm and fire accessory
- Electro - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Right Arm & Alternate Head and fire accessory
- "Deadliest Foes" Boomerang (SWAP) - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Left Leg and boomerangs
- Superior Spider-Man - Ultimate Green Goblin BAF Right Leg & Alternate Hands
Though not confirmed, it is our best guess that this
ALTERNATE wave will ship sometime after the
REGULAR wave. It will likely work similarly to what we have seen with recent waves of Hasbro's Marvel Universe lines that contained similar SWAP type figures such as the 3.75" Cloak & Dagger, Abomination & Abomb and Northstar & Aurora.
So completing the Ultimate Green Goblin Build-A-Figure should not be an issue, however depending on how willing retailers are going to want to order additional waves that contain 3 already released figures, it remains to be seen how easy it will be to get the 3 alternate SWAP figures.
Switching to the
Marvel Legends Infinite Series Captain America: The Winter Soldier line, here is how they will break down. There will be two different waves, both of which you will have to collect if you wish to be able to complete the
Mandroid Build-A-Figure. This will work exactly the same way as the previously released Iron Man Legends line did with the Iron Monger Build-A-Figure. The only difference is that there will also be SWAP figures included in at least the first wave that will have identical BAF pieces in them. Here is how the first wave breaks down:
- Marvel Now! Captain America - Mandroid BAF Head
- "Agents of Hydra" Red Skull SWAP - Mandroid BAF Right Arm Blade Weapon
- "Agents of Hydra" Hydra Soldier SWAP - Mandroid BAF Right Arm Blade Weapon
- "Soldiers of A.I.M." Baron Zemo SWAP - Mandroid BAF Left Arm Blaster Weapon
- "Soldiers of A.I.M." A.I.M. Soldier SWAP - Mandroid BAF Left Arm Blaster Weapon
- WWII Captain America (NOT PICTURED)
It is unknown at this time if the WWII Captain America will be a SWAP of some kind or just an additional figure added to the wave that would likely come with a figure stand or something. Likely it is just an added figure and will not be needed to complete the Mandroid Build-A-Figure. It should be noted that
ALL the
SWAP figures for this wave are slated to ship at the same time. So if you were to order a case from an etailer or such, you would be guaranteed to get at least one of each figure.
The second wave for the Captain America line has not been officially announced yet but will likely include movie versions of
Captain America,
Black Widow, and
Winter Soldier which were shown off originally at SDCC last summer. It is unclear if the second wave will contain any
SWAP figures or not.
We will continue to update you on any new information on these as we get it as well as any kind of status updates on Hasbro's Marvel Legends Jubilee Build-A-Figure wave, which was supposed to be the final wave of regular Marvel Legends figures released this year before they switched to the movie themed lines.
