Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and Marvel Unveil Brand New Hulkbuster Figure with Stan Lee
Jay Cochran - March 01, 2017
Yesterday in partnership with Marvel, Madame Tussauds Las Vegas and Stan Lee unveiled the brand new Hulkbuster figure. The famous Incredible Hulk figure now has some in-house competition because at 12-feet-tall and 9-feet-wide, the Hulkbuster, which made its first appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron, smashed its way into the Madame Tussauds front atrium. The massive, eye-catching figure is visible when passing by the attraction, giving guests a big reason to stop by and visit.
“I never could have imagined this in a million years and now that I see it [the figure], I think it is beyond fantastic. It could only have been done at Madame Tussauds,” said Stan Lee. “I’m so glad there is a Madame Tussauds because this figure is one of the greatest things I’ve ever seen.”
The Hulkbuster Armor is a fictional suit of armor worn by the Marvel Comics superhero Iron Man to counter the Incredible Hulk. The armor has a heavy-duty exo-frame designed for maximum strength amplification at the cost of reduced versatility and mobility. As its name suggests, it was specifically designed for hand-to-hand combat with the rampaging Hulk. The armor was rated with a lift capacity of 170 tons. During its maiden run, the armor enabled Tony Stark to temporarily hold his own in sustained physical combat with the Hulk.
Stephan Degen, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Las Vegas, stated, “The Hulkbuster is the perfect addition to our attraction and compliments our pre-exisitng, state-of-the art Marvel Super Heroes 4D Experience. The figure is going to be a huge hit with visitors!”
The colossal figure took approximately 20 studio artists four months to complete.
Madame Tussauds Las Vegas features nearly 100 lifelike wax figures from pop music stars, award-winning actors and actresses, glamorous Hollywood icons, prominent sports figures and more – each brought to life by Madame Tussauds’ creative team and unrivalled sculptors, with a historical legacy of craftsmanship of over 200 years.
