Walmart Screws Up With Loki & Corvus Glaive 2-Pack Online Orders

Jay Cochran - April 09, 2019
So if you ordered the Walmart exclusive Marvel Legends Loki & Corvus Glaive 2-Pack from Hasbro off the Walmart website and have yet to receive your order, then I am afraid I have some bad news for you, the chances of you getting it are slim to none.

While I have heard others having similar stories, here I am only speaking from my own personal experience with this. I pre-ordered the item in question several weeks ago from the Walmart website and was told it should arrive on 4/2. When I first ordered it I noticed Walmart had authorized a charge on my credit card twice, but being this was only an authorization and not an actual charge, while a little annoying I didn't panic and would wait and see what happened.

Fast-forward to 4/2, and I noticed my order had not arrived as their website previously told me it would have. I hadn't even received a shipping confirmation. Causing some concern I went to check my order status online, only not to be able to find it. I then contacted a Walmart rep via the little chat feature they have on their website. The rep told me it had not shipped out yet, but should be going out that day and the reason I couldn't see it online is because apparently when I bought it, I checked out as a guest as opposed to creating an account. I accepted this explanation and went on about my day. Several more days passed and I noticed I still hadn't gotten any kind of shipping notification let alone the actual item, so once again I went to the Walmart website and hit up a customer service rep via their chat feature. After some checking this person told me their had been some kind of processing glitch on their website and that I was essentially SOL. They didn't use those exact words but that was the general message they conveyed. They offered to cancel my order for me but had no recourse of getting me the item I wanted since it was now SOLD OUT. They even offered me a $10 e-credit so I could go buy something else. At this point I went and checked my account to see if I had been charged, but there was no indication of charges or even authorizations as I had previously seen. When I informed the Walmart rep I wasn't terribly happy with their solution, they said they would send it up the chain of command and I should hear back from them in 24 hours. That was 3 days ago and I never heard anything back.

At this point I do not foresee me getting the item I wanted and had ordered in good faith, but since I haven't been charged, I don't see there is much else I can do. I am certainly not interested in a $10 credit to try and buy something else on their website and will likely do my Marvel Legend shopping elsewhere other than when Hasbro decides to give them their next exclusive.

Errors and glitches can obviously happen to the best of us, but It's unfortunate that a major retailer like Walmart can't stock exclusive items like this in sufficient numbers to be able to easily fulfill demand, but I guess the general thinking with these things is that it's better to under-order and frustrate the consumer than over-order so they don't get stuck with unsold merchandise. Either that or they just like to try and artificially inflate demand hopping it gets you in their doors more often trying to find the item you want.

I was on the fence on doing a Black Order team while they were going up for pre-order at Walmart. So I missed the excitement. I did manage to score Corvus on Ebay loose for 45 dollars minus Loki. I got Ebony Maw on Amazon for retail with free shipping but will not get mailed some weeks later for some reason. It's actually from Amazon themselves and being shipped by them so I am not worried. Found Proxy peg warming at a Walmart and grabbing the remaining pieces I need to do Cull Obisden.

Speaking of Wal-Mart dropping the ball, did anyone ever find that Binary Captain Marvel? because that just never appeared anywhere at least in Canada, and walmart.com says it's been sold out since the dawn of it's release

I believe it is just now starting to hit stores.

Back on Corvus, the final extra processing charge finally dropped off last night.

Mine arrived yesterday and I looked online and had 4 processing charges showing up on my debit card which means they hadn't actually taken the money from the account but of course that money was frozen so I couldn't access it either. Today I have one actual charge and still showing two processing charges, the fourth one dropped off. I am waiting to see if the remaining 2 processing charges drop off by tomorrow before I contact Walmart again, but this whole fiasco has been ridiculous. Its a good thing I didnt have an intimidate need for the almost $200 worth they froze up in my account with these multiple processing charges.

Same here. I found one on the peg with a beat up thunder cat figure in marvel legends box. How can they not tell.

Its probably not worth the battle for them honestly. The employees arent trained to catch it, and the customer could claim they bought it like that. Its a shame. Every time I see one I point it out to the manager and then get strange looks either like I dont know what I am talking about or I am the one who did the swap (just to be clear, Im not...).

Not only that but their loss prevention program sucks. Every time I go into mine there are figure swaps galore and stolen BAF pieces everywhere.

Plain and simple. Walmart sucks. In my area only one walmart carries themand is always sold out right away. Three other ones don't carry them at all. That I do not understand at all. I am not a big on line shopper and after this screw up I am even less likely to start. With all the stores closing for good it wouldn't hurt my feelings to see walmart take a dive as well.
