Never-the-less details continue to surface for the second wave even as we wait for Hasbro to officially confirm the first wave. While I am pretty confident there is a second wave coming, I have not yet seen anything for myself to confirm the additional details Fwoosh is now reporting. They list the second Disney+ wave as follows:
So while they still don't have specific figures listed, they are indicating that 6 of the 7 figures in the wave will be based on the upcoming Disney+ What If? animated series. The seventh figure is being listed as something from the Loki series. No idea of what the Build-A-Figure for this wave will be based on.
There has yet to be a specific release date for the Disney+ What If? series announced, but at last reports it looked like it would be airing sometime this summer. Fwoosh has also changed their listing of that $50 Marvel Legends Deluxe figure #f2992 to indicate it will also be based on the What If? series. As I reported the other day, I have seen that one listed as "Hydra Stomper" which is likely just a code name. I don't know if Fwoosh has anything more on the deluxe figure or just making an assumption here being both the Deluxe figure and the Disney+ Wave 2 figures are slated for release around the same time in August.
If the Deluxe figure does in fact turn out to be something from the What If? series, then that gives credence to the speculation that it could be a figure based on the non-super soldier Steve Rogers piloted Mark I Iron Man Armor seen in the trailers for the show.
Based on the trailer we have seen for the What If? series we could probably come up with a number of guesses for the 6 regular figures in the Disney+ wave. Seems like the Super Soldier induced Peggy Carter seen in many of the promos for the show is very likely.
Zombie Captain America and T'Challa as Star-Lord seem like good bets to me as well
For now we will have to wait and see. I am hoping now that the WandaVision series is over, we could get a wave 1 reveal of Wanda as early as tomorrow, similar to how they revealed Vision this past Monday.
If you haven't seen it already, be sure to check out this first trailer released last December for the What If? animated series.
I just hope that whenever we get a Hasbro Legends figure of the Watcher, he'll look as alien as Byrne's take, instead of the bald pudgy dude who looks like somebody's weird uncle in a toga.
Sad to say I'd bet he will look almost the exact same as the Select. so more on the Pudgy toga uncle side of the spectrum, he hasn't really been depicted in that more alien look in a long time, or Hasbro will just laugh in our faces and instead we get Ulana instead, it is a What if Wave

Yes, we know what it is, what I'm saying is it'd be nice if we also got the mandroid sometime next year, and if we do, it shouldn't be topping in at $50.00
Yeah I was just not up on this thread for a while wondered if things changed, and completely agree a classic Mandroid would be better then this 1 off Hydra stomper, likely to appear for 15 of a 30 minutes show episode, it to me feels kinda sad that things that really deserve to get made, are cast aside for something like a hydra stomper, I know why..but pfff.
Wasn't it known now what this was? Hydra Stomper? if so then we know it's going to be that big Iron Many robot from What If

Yea that old box set is just that..old. Only problem here Atlantis is that this would make too much sense my friend. Ha.
Well let's hope someone at Hasbro is thinking as we are, because this is the perfect project for Pulse. Sure there's limited potential for re-use for many of these....I can't see too many characters wrapped up like the Mummy, for example....but that didn't stop them from making figures like the Kree Sentry, which was excellent (even if the wave itself wasn't all that well done).
Speaking of Halloween...since they've gone and done an "elvis" Modok for Pulse, nothing's off limits. So how about a Marvel Monsters set for Halloween?? Tomb of Dracula, Werewolf by Night, Living Mummy. Frankenstein, Satanna, Liliith....lets GO!
