Marvel Legends Spider-Man Themed Wave Shriek?!?

Marvel Legends Spider-Man Themed Wave Shriek?!?

Jay Cochran - August 12, 2021
Following our report yesterday about the next Marvel Legends Spider-Man themed wave, the folks at Fwoosh have seemingly dug up some new info on the wave.

We previously told you the wave would include No Way Home movie figures of Integrated Suit Spider-Man, J. Jonah Jameson, Doctor Strange as well as a Gamerverse Miles Morales figure from the new PS5 game and a comic book based Morlun.

The 7th regular release figure which we had no specific info on was originally listed to be a MCU based figure, but now according to Fwoosh will be a comic book based Shriek.

While we have nothing to confirm this, it makes sense that Hasbro might have switched things around changing the final figure in the wave from a MCU one to a comic book based one to avoid movie spoilers. It doesn't even appear the No Way Home movie will have any trailers released before premiering in theaters on December 17, 2021. With this wave being officially revealed by the end of this month, that final MCU figure originally planned for the wave was likely pushed to a future wave or some kind of single release in order to prevent SPOILERS.

We also still don't have any info on the Build-A-Figure for this wave, though I have seen some speculating it could be a new Man-Wolf comic based figure, something Hasbro has hinted to as possibly coming at some point. Again that is just speculation and we have no specific info for it at this time.

All should be fully revealed by the last week of August for this wave, so stay-tuned.

I actually can see monsters box set, not only as tribute to Toybiz but also Hasbro's urgeto compete with Jada toys universal Monsters series.

Well I've been going on and on about a Marvel Monsters box set for Halloween for well over a year now...was hoping this month we'd get some good news.....

The Morlun figure arrived the other day and its great. As I said before I think he'd be a great base for the Tomb of Dracula figure. However now, I realize he's on the small side. Put him up against almost any other Legend and its glaringly clear. Still....they could go ahead and re-tool him for Dracula. Maybe modify the Happy Hogan for Frankenstein monster....

Just in case there was still a question, no the movie will not be released without a trailer.

Bah! We need to see Man-Wolf, Tarantula, classic Rhino, and above all, red-and-gold Iron Spider before these others.

I hope we get the Ringer in a future Spider-Man wave.

I'm going to say my preferred look is his look from superior spider-man. Which looks like an updated versions of the nineties version

Hasbro's been leaning pretty hard into the 90s lately. While I would hope they would do something a little more classic out of the gate (personal vote is for the mark I), I feel like the alien version from "Invasion of the Spider-Slayers" isn't unlikely.

Definitely my preferred look. We need a classic look and Alastair also at some point.

It's like the next fad, like time travel was in the 80's.

I mean, if you're going by the comic books, the multiverse stories have existedfor decades. Since long before any MCU or X-Men movies were released, long before any of the Spider-Man movies and so on. It's a predominant storyline that allowed them to create amazing booksthey wouldn't have been able to otherwise. It proceeded the 80's, though I can't really think of many movies that featured the time travelelement then other than the Back to the Future series. It's recent decades that have over-used time travel as a plot devicenot the 80's.

But I digress. Just because this 50 your old enormous over-arcing plot has finally made it to a couple of movies, doesn't make it a fad. It's a thousand books in the making with some awesome stories that we finally get to see on the big screen and will probably be a predominant fixture in the MCU forever. Bring on Kang and the next 10 years of awesomeness!
