What Two Marvel Legends Figures Did Hasbro Tease For 2022???

Jay Cochran - September 14, 2021
UPDATE: rushfx80 pointed out that Ryan Ting made a comment somewhere on social media that Team and Vs Cards also count for his clue which means even more possibilities. There is a link in the article below so you can see all the cards and guess to your hearts content, but if you take anything away from this article, it's that Speedball is very likely coming next year to the line. For the others your guess is as good as mine.

Yesterday during Hasbro's Marvel Legends live-stream the guys gave us a clue for at least two Marvel Legends figures they plan to release sometime in 2022. The clue they gave stated the following:

There will be at least two characters who have never appeared in Toy Biz or Hasbro Legends 6 inch line who were also featured in Marvel Universe Series 2 (1991) card set.

Ryan Ting on social media went on to clarify that MCU based figures do not count.

Below we have gathered the cards of the 7 characters that have never had a comic book based 6" Marvel Legends figure done from either Hasbro or Toy Biz.

Note we are assuming costume variations don't count. For instance there is a card for Rachel Summers in her red spiked outfit that we have never gotten a figure for, but Hasbro has done a comic version of Rachel Summers before. Therefore we aren't counting here for this list though we are pretty sure Hasbro at some point will get around to doing that one so we can round out our Excalibur team.

Also note there Are Marvel team cards in the 1991 set which technically show characters that haven't been done in the Marvel Legends like Namorita who is seen on the New Warriors card. Since she isn't specifically mentioned by name and dones't have her own individual card in the set we aren't counting her here, though again we assume eventually we will get a figure of her to round out our New Warriors team.

So who are the six characters that make the cut, well they are Speedball, Sleepwalker, Nebula, Saracen, Deathwatch, Blackout, Baron Mordo and Calypso. If you want to see all the cards featured in the 1991 set you can check them out here.

One other possible additions is Mephisto which is featured on a Vs card going up against Silver Surfer. Since that is an individual card I am only going to list them a possible but less likely candidates.

So right off the bat I can tell you Speedball is very likely to be one of the figures Hasbro was teasing. I know this because I have seen info that suggests he will be part of that Avengers Comic Wave I told you about a few weeks ago that will also have USAgent.

As for the second figure, and remember there could be more than 2, I don't know. I have not seen any info at this time suggesting any of the other 7 characters are getting the Marvel Legends treatment next year. If I had a guess, Sleepwalker, Baron Mordo or a comic book based Nebula seem like the most likely choices, but Hasbro does like their obscure characters.

Which character out of these choices do you most want to see get a Marvel Legends figure next year?

Well the much-anticipated Excalibur boxset has come and gone....they said they didn't have "time" to include Rachel Phoenix. Sadly, no reveal or even hint that she might appear before the end of 2022 and complete the team. Maybe 2023 then.

These look great! Got my 3 ordered- really hoping they release the Super Skrull in the retro F4 packaging like they did the Kingpin BAF in the retro Spidey line, too, now. (If they do, because they're still available in the UK, I'm down for another regular Skrull, too, to flank him either side equally.)

I've said before, but I wish Kang had come in the retro packaging now, too (like Doom did, 'shipper' and all) - even though I'm an opener. Really enjoying the F4 sub-line, despite the faults.

Oh I think anyone would prefer that change! If they dont switch it up, I can see them pulling it in the retro line..making everyone get him again

Long as they give him the right paint job, I'm in. The walgreens would've been perfect if they had the right size. Paint was on point!

I'm hoping they still have time to make an adjustment to use the Vulcan buck on the Silver Surfer that comes with Galactus, but probably not.

Does the head not seem a little too big for the body?

If they'd waited a few more months they could have used the new Vulcan buck for this, but this was just another force use of the Sunfire buck that looks really good, but size wise is really in an in between place as to which characters it actually applies to. I'm hoping they still have time to make an adjustment to use the Vulcan buck on the Silver Surfer that comes with Galactus, but probably not.

The skrull looks fine. Not sure it is a figure I really need though

Lol spider man getting his hair blow dryed tho

Lmao, right? The Skrull's expression perfectly captures his frustration at managing human hair, lol!

Cool figure though! I need this quite badly, yes indeed!

Dunno bout that. Otherwise, we woulda had classic Sentinels a while ago. Classic Mandroids would have to be max of 8'-9' tall, Hasbro is always using the "large figs take shelf space " excuse card so I think the only way we'd get these "deluxe" figs would be via Hasbro Pulse ,Amazon, EE, etc. Speaking of deluxe, Hasbro needs to redo classic Sasquatch at an actual 10 inch scale being as he's a 10 footer in the comics, with alternate snarling/yelling head sculpt, open claw raking hands , grabbing hands & fists!

Super late to this but yep this right here. That damn Hasbro one is just waaaaay to small. And hienslty with the last few DS releases in silver Centurion Titanium Man, and Hulk I would be pumped if they did a Sasquatch with their recent articulation scheme and looking just as good cuz idk it's tough to say if they gonna keep it rolling like this, we will see tho.
