2022 Is The 35th Anniversary For Capcom's Street Fighter II Video Game - Hasbro Where Are The 6" Marvel Legends Marvel Vs Street Fighter Figures To Celebrate??

Jay Cochran - June 28, 2022
If you didn't know, 2022 is the 35th Anniversary for Capcom's popular Street Fighter II video game series and with that we have seen a number of toy companies recently celebrating with mash-up type figures. Jazwares is doing AEW Street Fighter figures, Playmates Toys is doing 6" TMNT Vs Street Fighter 2-Packs and even Hasbro themselves are doing Transformers Street Fighter mash-up figures.

Of course many consider the ultimate cross-over between Capcom to be with Marvel thanks to the video game series that began in the early 90s and still goes on today. The original game was X-Men vs Street Fighter that was then followed by Marvel Vs Street Fighter and then later Capcom Vs Street Fighter.

So how come we aren't getting the most logical action figure crossover line of them all which would be 6" Marvel Legends vs Street Fighter 2-Packs? If Playmates Toys can get a license from Capcom to do 6" Street Fighter figures with their TMNT ones, you would think Hasbro should be able to do the same for Marvel Legends. After all Hasbro gave us some 3.75" Marvel Vs. Capcom figures several years ago in their "Gaming Greats" line.

Even Toy Biz back in the day gave a line of X-Men and Marvel Vs Capcom figures.

Hasbro in an effort to keep cost low could even take figures they have already released like the Modular Iron Man one and just throw something in like a cool Proton Cannon like this custom one from Greiver888.

I can't tell you why this hasn't happened or even 100% that it isn't going to at some point, though I feel like if it were happening this year to celebrate Street Fighter's 35th Anniversary this year we would have already seen some indication of it. I will tell you however in my opinion that it should happen and hope at some point Hasbro makes it so. What do you think? Would you like to see a Marvel Legends style line of Marvel Vs. Capcom figures released from Hasbro at some point in the future, let us know in the COMMENTS SECTION.

It would be amazing if it did happen, especially when there's3.75 precedent, which was a kinda dumb idea and missed opportunity when 6 inch line would be spectacular seller and still can be if they try, just give me good classic Chun-Li and Cammy and I will be happy.

Ditto on Chun-Li and Cammy. Throw in Sakura too. I wanna replace the SOTA female figures in my display.

I really wish they'd do this, but I'd say it all has to come down to licenses, likely most of the game banners all are tied up in various licensing agreements and Hasbro would have to buy the license to say Marvel vs. Capcom, or Marvel vs. Street Fighter, which they likely don't want to (for now), I think they agreements they had to do the 3.75 figures was probably a stand alone contract, and maybe for specific characters to be used, likely that agreement expired since we have not seen any new sets for that series.

I'd also say it would seem unlikely for this sub line right now, with Street Fighter characters being made by playmates with the Vs. TMNT line.

I could dream, we could dream, maybe it can come to fruition at some point.

This is totally possible. The Capcom vs. Marvel franchise is completely different from the Street Fighter license, so this is totally something Hasbro could bid, but I just think they are so tied up with all the MCU/Disney+ obligations right now there is really no room or time for them to chase another sub-line, no matter how lucrative it may seem.

I think you answered your own question, Playmates are doing 6 inch Street Fighter figures two packs, so they have the licence to do them. The Transformers you mention were first released in Japan back in 2018 and are just now getting a Western release to (badly) cash-in on the anniversary.
