as I see this Vulcan buck more, I actually don't think it's such a great straight replacement for the Bucky Cap Buck, sure it has tons of better articulation, but it also has a strange shape to it, with the hinges at the pec area, leaves the arms dropping in what looks more like a slouchy position, and awkwardly angled, and seeing it beside the Bucky Cap buck, I actually asthetically still think that mold is pretty pleasing to the eye, and I like it more then this new Vulcan buck, sure the articulation is far less superior but I think the ol' Buck Cap buck is a great staple in the Legends tool repertoire.

I posted on another review of this figure that I was planning on potentially using this guy as an army builder since Ive no connection and his suit is generic enough to pass for a group of nameless thugs. Actually thinking about doing the same with that weird Darwin figure with no alterations. Well, maybe popping an extra Skrull head in him.

So if you were able to snag those Pulse SHIELD Agent army builders and like me are stuck with all those extra riot helmets, do what I did, use the helmet with the red visor and BLAM!! Instant nameless thug. The blue of the helmet is an exact match but the red is a shade off. But it does look pretty good and if I decide to army build them ( no chance Hasbro is getting full price from me) it will be another generic army ala the same way I did with the Paladin figure.

note: this Vulcan army would be strictly punch and slap as neither set of included hands holds a weapon.

id post pics but this site keeps telling me my resolution is too large ( started some time last year, cant post any pics .. any suggestions?)

I like the pec hinges, especially as they're done on the Falcon ( who actually should've been on a bigger mold 'cause he's supposed to be 6'2", not 5'10") and Shang-Chi.

I wonder if that's why Hasbro gave Falcon those thick sole boots to make him a little taller.

I like the pec hinges, especially as they're done on the Falcon ( who actually should've been on a bigger mold 'cause he's supposed to be 6'2", not 5'10") and Shang-Chi. That range of motion should be on all the figures so its good that with this buck, they're moving in that direction. Vulcan looks like a good start.

Were it not for the new style I would've passed on this Vulcan figure. Looking forward to them updating Daredevil and others on this buck. I won't be getting every one of their "upgrades" though because I've cut way down on buying these.

Compared to the bucky cap body, he looks like he has boobs. Its why I'm generally not a fan of peck hinges.

I've never actually seen the Vulcan buck in hand but from everything I've seen from it in numerous reviews it isn't as much the straight drop-in replacement for the Bucky Cap buck they were pimping it as. From what I've seen its actually quite a bit larger than BC buck. And while its a fine looking buck, and I'll never complain about receiving more plastic for the buck (pun intended) that's gonna be a problem moving forward with this mold as the standard fit, mid-sized body. Characters like Daredevil and Cyclops who have multiple good to very good versions on the older buck are suddenly gonna be out of scale with future similar sized characters and characters on that frustrating Sunfire buck are gonna be way out of scale and while Hasbro's all about selling us the same character over and over they're not too keen on redoing versions of the characters they've already done (unless it's an MCU character, of course), so we may not get current versions of those characters with this mold for some time, if ever, no matter how much we ask. I know the line has to progress and it's great that they are constantly striving to improve product, but I'd have thought they'd have done a better job at getting the scale correct, as much as they destroyed their rotator cuffs out patting each other, and themselves on the backs about it.
