You definitely need a pair of glasses or are just utterly unfamiliar with Bob Larkin-era late 70s/early 80s Hulk if you think MS stole the Hulk design from ML.

No they are completely different versions of the figure. I'm just talking as far as the build of the figure. It's almost just a larger version of the ML Hulk body mold with smoothed lines and added details. Even the color scheme is very close. This was something pointed out by many reviewers like Dan Who, Unparalleled Universe and J Hernandez. There are some definite changes. Most notable MS's does not have back butterflies and the knees are ripped but there are more similarities than not. The J Hernandez is particularly funny. He does a nice little bit on the differing approached to scale between Hasbro, MS and McFarlane. His McFarlane impression is hilarious.

I apologize. I don't want to get us off topic. The point was just that a company with smaller economies of scale will likely have a higher per unit cost themselves and thus have to pass that on to the consumer. (Imagine someone like NECA, Super7, Vala or Loose Collector eventually ending up with the license). This will also likely be true just if Hasbro cuts back on the volume/quantity of each figure that they produce (which is definitely going to happen due to the huge volume of figures ending up at deep discount at places like Ollies, Ross and Kids Warehouse).

I'll stop there and add any additional thoughts to the Hasbro financial issues discussion and keep them out of this one about Crimson Dynamo, which looks like a fantastic figure!

No apology necessary, I didn't take your comment in any kind of bad light at all. I agree that some companies would jack up the price (I dont know how Loose Collector is staying in business with prices at the $70.00 range), but I think Mattel or Vala would push hard to keep price down.

Not that I'm ready a V- verse Marvel figure, but hey....

By the way have you seen/do you have the 4" Crimson Dynamo hasbo did years ago? It is amazing....all they need to do is take that and scale it up to the 6" mark, and they'd be good.

This looks pretty good for a Select figure. They occasionally do some decent work but for every Beta Ray Bill they do they do an Iceman. I just don't depend on these guys for any kind of consistency in aesthetics or articulation.

It really does make me sad when the B-Team beats ML to the punch with guys like this because you know it just means it's going to be that much longer a wait till Hasbro feels there's been enough of a time gap to do their own without feeling like they're copying MS. What's funny is MS has no such qualms as it's quite clear the literally stole Hulk's design from ML and nobody is fooled by the slight changes to the sculpt of the pants and some smoothed out muscle detail. And before anyone points it out I know it was done by the same studio but it doesn't take away from the fact that it was more or less the same sculpt and build on a larger scale. I guess only after so many people pointed it did they do an All New sculpt for the Red Hulk but TBH it doesn't look all that different to me.

At any rate. As good as this looks and the Titanium Man as well I'll just keep on waiting for the ML versions because these will just be too large to fit in with my ML. Plain and simple. Thanks for playing guys but no thanks.

Hopefully with the Armor Wars movie looming we'll get these guys but I'm pretty sure that's at least a few years out. And who knows when this strike will end. If ever.

No, I'm aware of these guys and they've done some good work, but they're fairly "niche"....I mean a competitor that does the figures in the same scale, around the same price point.

As to any potential change in scale or increase in price, one of the major things fans are balking about is that the line is already too expensive for what you get in return. Of course they're free to charge what they want. As a consumer, I'm free to take my money elsewhere.

You mean life MAFEX and Mezco? I totally get what you mean, though. Another cost effective alternative. The only figure I've bought from either of those companies was the Mezco 1:12 Lockjaw with Black Bolt.

With Hasbro's financial problems, there will likely be a different alternative in the not so distant future - but we have to brace ourselves for a possible change in scale and likely potential increase in price if and/or when that occurs.

It would be great if there were another company doing 6" Marvel characters; decent competition would keep all of them on their toes.

That Crimson Dynamo is fantastic

For as much as we complain about Hasbro's pricing it is likely that anyone smaller than them or Mattel would have to charge more.

Dynamo looks good and I'm looking forward on eventually having that one in hand!

Would make my day if ML took a shot at the other classic CD. IMG_2516.thumb.jpeg.adcd8767ae6c8c5626b302b1798f28df.jpeg IMG_2519.thumb.jpeg.eb04a0e44ba0907d646c85f1af41ce78.jpeg

And with how great the recent Destroyer came out, Id still like to see ML take on this armor - though would be tough to beat if Select simply released a classic green redeco which I would be totally satisfied with. IMG_2517.thumb.jpeg.98c277d9816dc193fa19e11e4f40e01e.jpeg

So maybe ML should focus on the Gremlin armor instead
