When it was first revealed I thought it was the Iron Spider reused. But when I saw comparison images soon after, like the side-by-side you mentioned, I realized it wasn't.

I really do like this figure, I loved Superior Spidey, those books were great, this figure is leaps and bounds better then the previous one which was pretty lame, But that being said, I don't have any interest in getting this one, mainly because I don't care enough I have the old one and it's stuffed behind a zillion other figures so I don't even pay attention to it, if I catch a glimpse of it that's enough, that's all the Superior Spider-Man I need to see, This however looks really good and I'm sure the people are happy about this since so many had been asking for an update on this guy.

Sometimes You just gotta draw the line, I already have this guy, pffff not dipping again, getting update fatigue.
