I forgot this thing existed

Didn't think I would like this doom as much as I do. Enough to replace my super skull wave one with. I wish we could get a throne for him. I just took the throne from black series smoke and it works pretty good.

I received my Cabal 3-pack yesterday from Amazon. It's fine, but nothing special. All 3 figures are improvements over what came before them, mostly. However I'm going to use this Doom exclusively as a Doombot because I know that if I left it displayed with that cloth cape in my open bookshelves that thing would be an absolute dust magnet. I'm glad to have each figure, but none of them are what I would consider "must have." I would have felt a lot better about buying this if it had been 2 "re-do's" and at least 1 all new character. As someone who has been in on this line since the beginning over 2 decades ago, it's just going to take a lot to ever get me excited to buy another version of a character that I already own, no matter how improved it is. I still often do it, but I rarely feel good about it.

Got mine Sunday with my Iron Fist and Luke Cage! I had never gotten IP, so he was much wanted. I can use that Osborn head elsewhere too. Seeing Taskmaster side by side with the previous one is really revealing. Cause the.paintjobs are so similar, I wasn't super excited by the initial pics. But the face is way better, and the poeability is extremely nice for a figure that should be able to be able to match DD and Spidey. The quiver is pretty cool too. I like the Doom more than I thought I would. The change to the lower tunic, skirt if you will, makes him more poseable. And now, with the old figure, I have a dedicated Doombot. So, im pretty happy with the whole set. I do wish we had wires in the soft goods cape. But, I gotta say, watchin that cape flutter when my fan cycles past him posed on my end table is pretty awesome!

Very happy with Luke and Danny too btw. They are two of the best of the year imo. Can't wait to get my backordered Wolvie to start settin up the Bendis era for the first time since the TB days. Think we have everyone except a comic Echo for a later lineup. Guess I am gonna hunt down a Danvers afterall.

Wow. Im never at the front of the line but i got mine last week.

And I agree with you @TheArrow. This does seem kind of monotinous. Especially with the cloth cape on Doom which is just silly. But i was able to talk myself into it because IP was in bad need of an update and a classic Taskmaster is on a much improved body model. In this current state where they are constantly upgrading molds and bodies I expect we'll all be buying most f the older figures anyway.

Man...even if I block the head on the Iron Patriot from view, something still seems "off", in terms of that fig fitting with the other two or something. Other two look really good, so maybe we'll have to find the Patriot a "forever home" with someone else.

Great set

No I hear you on that. Not sure if you saw my earlier comment but I'm not high on soft goods either. Firstly it never really sits right on a 6 inch fig and secondly I just don't like having mixed materials in my display. It's an all or nothing deal with me. If 90 percent of my collection is plastic cloaks and jackets I can't stand the thought of the other 10 percent having cloth goods. Maybe it's just me but either they all have cloth coats or none of them do. I guess that's what's called a pet peave.

Glad to see there are more of our like minds.. i agree with everything you replied with!

LOL and notice how they move, glacier-speed, towards the comic classic look for Doom.

But someone brought up a great point: even with the slight updates here, all these figures have been done at least twice before. Why not do some packs to finish off some of these uncompleted teams? Wasn't too long ago that after Corsair and Ch'od, we all thought Raza and Hepzibah were just 'round the corner. Yondu from the Guardians was done, but what about the others? Did Warriors Three ring a bell? And now that Zabu is here, and making animals is no longer in doubt, why not finally bring in Lockjaw and the Inhumans?

Agreed! I'd like to see the Inhumans and original GotG completed before I'm 60, at least! Triton and Starhawk would be pretty easy tools too, but alas...! And the Warriors three...One day? Again, before I'm 60!
