his face is fine for what it is, but it just reminds me of that pop singer the kids love Yungblud, and I can't unsee it.
Love that we got this, but don't truly love the figure. But I won't complain this really was almost lost in the fires of the Engine of Vengeance.
but my biggest take away from getting this, is can we finally get his sister again?
Ha Ha. I didn't see it at first but I totally see it now. You're not crazy. There is a distinct difference between the two figures. Whild Shang Chi's legs are surely different the torsos should be identical but they are not. Hellstom's gaps are more pronounced yet I don't think they made them any smaller though but Hasbro is know to tweak certain things and the results are usually less than spectacular. Remember what they did to the old Toybiz Bullseye model which was basically the predecessor to this one? Anyway I'm thinking maybe the plastic and possibly the skin color. Shang Chi had a darker skin tone but the plastic was much shinier. Maybe that made the gaps look less visible. Though logically you'd think that would have the opposite effect. Hmmmm. In the end I think I'm going to say it's the skin tone.
As far as the figure itself you're also right. But as much as I really dislike this model It's not so much because of the model itself. I think it's more of the application of it which is Hasbro's doing. I think they often use it as a filler when they don't know where the character falls as body build. And it's almost always the filler when they think a character needs butterflies which they often don't. It's almost like you can hear them throw up their hands and go "Well we'll just use the Sunfire mold on this one". On figures like this. Like Shang Chi. Like Tarantula. This model is completely accurate IMO. Guys around or less than 6 ft that are more thin with muscle. Yes the shoulders need work and that seems simple enough for Hasbro to fix. Yet? But Silver Surfer, Firelord, Falcon. Those guys are all 6'2" plus guys built for strength and need a bigger model. The Vulcan model at very least if not the Reaper on. Like I've said I have customs of SS and Falcon on Reaper bodies and the lack of butterflies does not cause any issue getting them into their respective poses. Same with Yondu. No problem getting the Reaper model into a bow shooting pose. If you have to the Vulcan model has even less problem. Now we have a new Reaper sized model with butterflies so it should never be any issue again. But it will be. I promise that.
As far as Satana. Wow we can only hope. And if we ever do again I doubt it'll be on the same body and it certainly won't be with the same deco. But yes these online waves are the right time and place to get them done. Like I said on Bluecomet's review I hope this wave sold well enough to let Hasbro know we want more of this. Strange Tales Wave 2? Robbie, Satana, Blackout, Werewolf By Night, Goblin Queen, Baron Blood, Mandarin. All those characters we're not supposed to speak of. And then a very nice, long awaited, very much appreciated Mehisto BAF. That would be the best. Hands down instant buy.
