I guess I'm in the minority but I absolutely loved the 616 Sabretooth that came in the Apocalypse BAF wave.

Though I loved the AOA comics at the time and I'm a big Joe MAD! fan, seeing these characters in figure form now I think the AOA interpretations of Morph and Sabretooth specifically, I don't think they're very good designs. Morph just looks silly (which most likely was the point) but is so different from his TAS counterpart, and Sabes looks too simple.

All that said, I'm happy to have these figures in my collection and looking forward to finally have an AOA shelf.

Yeah, totally! Heimdall falls somewhere between Omega Red and Colossus for height, and his body type is probably closer to that of Colossus. He might need a whole new sculpt, though, because of his armour. The typical flat, spandex suit wouldnt be a great fit for him. Probably the same goes for Skurge. This is, incidentally, why I think so few of Thors supporting cast has been made so far. Its not that Hasbro doesnt want to do the figures. They just dont want to spring for unique sculpts for each of them, which they would likely have to do for most of them.

I agree that heights are often going to need to be rounded, so to speak. Cyber was bad re-use, though. Colossus is both wayyyyy taller than him AND a totally different body shape. They used the body because of the plated arms, but it was a bad fit.

Its the Colossus body from the Warlock wave. They also used it for the new Cyber. Its too big for Cyber, as well as most of the stuff you listed, and arguably even for this Sabretooth.

Ah, I see, they just filled in the steel band indentations on Colossus, still a previous buc, thanks Benn. But at 7' 2" both Heimdall and Skurge would be far better on the buck than Sabretooth. We are not going to get a different buc for every inch of difference the characters actually are in the comics. And the cost would be passed a long making new molds for every fraction of an inch taller in plastic, it just isn't cost efficient. Anyone 7' 2" up to 7'5" like Colossus, is going to be just fine on that buc. Yeah, I already had this conversation about Sabretooth's scale with gigantor, but he will always be unhappy. Because they will never make a different mold for every size height, heck as you point out, we have 6' 4" Cyber on the Colossus body also. Getting close is going to have to do, and I'm more concerned with someday getting the above mentioned figures 'at all'.

I'm still coming back to this figure, is this a completely all new buc? I wish I could see him next to the 80th Thor figure. Anyway, I just see a lot of potential with this buc. I mean, maybe this is the one they use to finally give us the Executioner, Heimdall, a more classic, regal Odin, maybe even a new updated Wrecking Crew. Although as always, I'd prefer they just keep giving us new villains . Yeah, this buc is nice!

No, no, no, no & double no to all of those characters being on this oversized outta scale buck. I'm glad you're not in charge of assigning what buck goes on what character.

Where are the claws out hands? The gripping hands are obviously to hold the chain of wildchild. Sabretooth should have claws, that is his offensive weapon. Other than that, this is a good figure, finally Sabretooth is in the right big size.

I agree, much better than the most recent versions, epecially on the - sentry/hyperion buc. The AOA storyline never really hooked me, but I'm happy for those who are really looking forward to this version of the character. My hope is they use this buc for a classic Sabretooth in the future. I actually hope they use it for any number of larger characters.

Yes I agree, they should make good use of this moving forward! I think they could use this for another modern incarnation of a character I've been wanting to see made- Dracula. I hope they use this for a classic Sabretooth too, would be great to see this as a retro carded release or something. This buck is great for big characters, in the comic he was not this large to reflect this buck, but I still like what they did here.

Emnems80 - 2021-10-06 @ 8:43 am

I'm glad Sabertooth is on this larger buck. I should be able to prop Wild Child on his back. I want to recreate the X-Men Age of Apocalypse Alpha cover.

Still find it strange that now we are getting alternate ponytails
