Character SummaryAlthough born in New York City, Ororo Munroe moved with her parents to Egypt at a young age, where her parents died in a bomb blast that left her highly claustrophobic. Surviving as a pickpocket on the streets of Cairo, Ororo's mutant ability to control the weather manifested when she reached puberty, and she was worshiped as a goddess in the more remote regions of Africa. Her ability to create wind, rain and lightning led Professor Charles Xavier to recruit her to his X-Men, and she has since acted as the X-Men team leader on more than one occasion. Outside of the X-Men, Ororo is married to the Black Panther, T'Challa, the King of Wakanda. She is also an active member of the Avengers.
