According to the fansite MarvelTVNews.com, Marvel has canceled the hit animated series Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and will be replacing it with a new series called Avengers Assemble. There have been long running rumors that the series would not be picked up for a 3rd season and this latest news seems to confirm that, however the site indicates they were sent a press release announcing this new series and from what I can tell this is the only site that seems to have gotten said press release which seems a bit odd. If the report is true it looks like the new series will be based more on a movie based roster of Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Thor and based on this image that was said to be released with the press release, the Falcon. If the news of this new series turns out to be true then we will possibly hear more details during the International Licensing Expo that takes place in Vegas this week.
