Prometheus Writer Jon Spaihts On Marvel's Short List For Doctor Strange Movie

Deadline is reporting that Marvel Studio's is looking at Jon Spaihts to write the script for their upcoming Doctor Strange movie which will be directed by Scott Derrickson. Spaihts was one of the first writers to work on Ridley Scott’s Alien type prequel and is currently working on Universal’s The Mummy reboot as well as the New Regency alien invasion pic The Darkest Hour and The Black Hole. Marvel is looking to fast-track production on the movie and is considering such actors as Tom Hardy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jared Leto from Dallas Buyers Club to play the Sorcerer Supreme of the Marvel Universe. A first draft of the Doctor Strange script has already been penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer. If you missed it, Doctor Strange got a brief mention in Marvel's last movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
