Marvel Legends Wolverine
Marvel: Tom on 2008-10-23

Package Description
Haunted by nightmares of a half-remembered past, WOLVERINE has worked for years to quell his inner demons. Gifted with the phenomenal ability to heal any injury, and process any poison, he has proven to be almost indestructible, after nearly a century of fighting. In an effort to expunge the demons of his past, he adventures with both the X-MEN and the NEW AVENGERS. His life as a Super Hero has carried him around the world, and across the universe, battling evil in all its forms.

Appearance
Wolverine has the same body sculpt as the Toybiz ML series 6 Wolverine. The body is molded in yellow, and the arms are molded in skin color. I think the yellow color chosen is actually a good choice, but the problem is there is no paint wash or anything to texture the large unbroken yellow areas. As the figure is now, the yellow plastic reflects a lot of light and makes it look harder and less realistic than other figures The black stripes are clean and crisp though, as are the blue areas.

The proportions are good on this figure, and he fits in well with other Toybiz X-Men figures. None of the joints are overly obvious, although the fists are a little awkward looking. This head sculpt is my favorite for Wolverine, and the yellow is actually painted on for the head. Overall, this Wolverine would be perfect if it had a paint wash to soften the yellow.

Articulation
Wolverine has Toybiz articulation. Wolverine has double jointed knees and elbows. The torso joint moves side to side, forward and back, and rotates. There are not swivel joints in the ankles, but he does have pinned ankles and pin jointed toes. His balance is good, and there’s nothing limiting his range of motion.

Poseability
Wolverine has a lot of great action poses thanks to the Toybiz articulation. There are no surprises in terms of what he can do. He looks a little odd next to some Toybiz figures that have better paint washes, but in general he fits in well with other figures.

Final Judgment: 6
With a black paint wash on the body this figure would have been perfect. As it is, I’m still happy with Wolverine, but the ML 6 is still better. This Wolverine is, however, better than the old ML Series 3 Wolverine. Overall this Wolverine is a good buy for anyone who is a fan of the costume, but isn’t a must buy with all the Wolverine figures out there.
