Mezco Toyz Marvel One:12 Collective Punisher Figure Review & Image Gallery
Figures: Jay Cochran on 2017-03-10

Today, I take a look at the new Marvel-based One:12 Collective Punisher figure from Mezco Toyz which you can purchase now from BigBadToyStore.com.

The packaging is pretty much the same as seen with previous One:12 Collective figures. You have the box with a slip-cover on it, and the front of the slip-cover features the Punisher's skull logo while the back has images of the figure with the various accessories. Once you remove the slip-cover, you can open the front flap of the box to reveal cool artwork on one side and the figure in a window box on the other.

The figure stands about 6.5" tall and features a number of different highly detailed weapon accessories. You get a combat knife, 9mm automatic pistol, two different types of machine guns and Grenade launcher with six grenades. The pistol and two machine guns also come with extra magazine clips, and you get a translucent plastic firing effect that will fit in the barrel of the guns to look like you are firing bullets.

I really love the detail on the weapons, both with the sculpting and paint applications. Mezco really went the extra mile with things like the added detail on the magazines with the sculpted bullets. I also like the ability to load the grenades into the grenade launcher. These weapons also will work nicely with your Marvel Legends figures if you are so inclined.

Besides the weapons, the figure also comes with three different detailed head sculpts. You get a regular sculpt of Frank Castle that features the familiar slicked-back black hair and it even has a scar over his lip so that it looks like he has seen plenty of action. The second head sculpt features an angry screaming expression, the type of look that will strike fear in even the most hardened criminals. The final head sculpt features Frank Castle with a look as if he has just gone 12 rounds with ole horn head himself. Along with the head sculpts, you get four different pairs of hands and the traditional One:12 Collective figure stand which features the Punisher's skull logo on the base.

The figure itself is designed to look like what someone in real life might look like if they wanted to be the Punisher. Featuring a black turtleneck sweater, black combat pants and boots, the Punisher figure wears an Armored skull load-bearing vest with belt and knife sheath to protect him when going into danger. For me personally, I prefer the spandex superhero look for this character, but I think Mezco manages to make the realistic look work for this figure.

The articulation for this figure is on par with other One:12 Collective figures. The ball-jointed neck has pretty decent up and down movement. The arms use a standard ball-hinged joint at the shoulder and incorporate a bicep swivel, double-hinged elbows and ball-hinged joints at the wrist. There is a midsection joint but it is pretty limited with the skull vest and belt which are removable. The legs are attached with ball-joints allowing you to get a good amount of movement at the waist and feature a thigh swivel, double-hinged knees and boot cuff swivel. The ankles have up and down movement as well as some ankle pivot.

Overall, I like this figure. I really like the weapon accessories that are included with it. While I do prefer the spandex look more than the realistic look this figure incorporates, I feel Mezco has done a good job here. The detailing with the three head sculpts are nicely done, and I think this figure will make a nice addition to anyone who is a fan of the anti-hero. The alley backdrops featured in this review can be purchased from the folks at Extreme-Sets.com.
