This figure is available for purchase at Sideshow Toy.

The first Sideshow Sixth Scale Marvel figure to be released was Deadpool, and I liked that figure a lot. The second was Wolverine, and I liked that one a lot too, so when it came to obtaining the Exclusive Sideshow Collectibles Sixth Scale Punisher, I was very excited to get my hands on it and add it to my collection.

Let's get to it, solider!

PACKAGE: Sideshow is giving us the same shoe box packaging that we had received for the other Marvel Sideshow Sixth Scale figures, and I have no complaints about it. There's a nice image of the Punisher in black and white that resembles the design of the figure. I like how the color of the box is an off-white, gray color. After lifting the lid, there's an awesome cover sheet of the Punisher logo dripping over a dirty black and red smeared pattern; just a reminder that the Punisher doesn't mess around. Also, the Punisher text under neither the cover is printed in a dark army green color; another reminder that dear 'ol Frank doesn't play.

ACCESSORIES: There's a lot to get into here, and let's start with the display stand. I'm not a fan. It's just too small and kind of plain. At least there's a nice concrete-like pattern printed on the bottom of the base, but the size of the base pretty much accommodates a basic stance and not much else. With all this articulation, I'd like a base that compliments the articulation. The figure has 10 interchangeable hands and they look great, and are made really well aside from the fact that I think they're a little over-sized, and one gun holding hand had the thumb unintentionally attached to the middle finger. This required some surgery on my part with an exacto knife. I like that the hands all have pegs attached to them individually, that's a nice touch(extra pegs still included). Amongst these hands he has (what I have been informed to be), a Kenpo punching hand to get the bad-guys in the temple. The gloves are sculpted in great detail with extra gray material over the knuckles and tiny breathing holes. Also, we get a nice light brown color lightly washed over the white to give it some natural grit. The figure comes with 6 spare magazines loaded into the pouches of the figure. Unlike the Deadpool Sideshow figure, these pouches don't fall off easily at all - they're on there.

He comes with 4 grenades, and these can be stored on any of the straps throughout the figure, plus they have actual metal pins. Speaking of metal (not the new Metallica album), he comes with 2 metal knives. These things are so cool, yet potentially dangerous because they are very sharp. I choose to holster one on his left boot, and the other on his back. He comes with 4 different made-up hand guns. The first 2 resemble revolvers that can be holstered under his armpits. The second pair are larger fake pistols that can actually be recoiled to reveal a bullet in the chamber. Unfortunately the magazine cannot be removed from these guns even though the figure comes with 4 spare magazines for them. The Sideshow Exclusive includes a sub-machine gun that looks cool, but I have a hard time having the figure hold it, but the Punisher makes it work. There's a hinge on the support handle and you can remove the magazine for this one, however there are no spares. Frank also has a large riffle that looks dangerous. It has a fully functioning strap that can be adjusted and you can unclip it from the riffle if you'd like. It nicely wraps over his head and shoulder without having to remove the head sculpt. Also, it has removable magazine and the 2 spares stored nicely store on the back of the figure. One thing to mention is that all the magazines have a copper and golde shiny bullet sitting at the top, and all the guns and magazines have beautiful silver scuffs painted throughout.

And the last accessory I'll write about is his bullet-proof vest. This is made out of a very soft material that detaches in half and is easy to attach to the figure via velcro. I think the figure looks better with this on, as it bulks him up a bit. What I don't like are how the shoulder pieces of the vest drape down on his shoulders. It just looks like he has small shoulders and doesn't look menacing enough to me, so I tuck them under the velcro, and it works.

HEAD SCULPT AND ATTIRE: One of my favorite characteristics of this figure is the head sculpt. I love it, and I think it looks amazing. The facial expression is mean and ready to punish . . . Ha! - see what I did there? Okay, not funny, but still a really mean and awesome head sculpt. Many have commented on the dark skin complexion, but that just makes sense to me that he'd have a darker skin tone from being out in the sun. It's a very realistic take and I like how the hair looks all slicked back. Reminds me of a 2012 Shartimus. The eyes are painted with bright blue and I guess the only draw-back is that he could use more facial scars and probably some stubble. The Punisher should be dirty and unkept pretty much all the time.

The wardrobe on the figure looks good, for the most part. The Punisher skull is well painted on the shirt, but the sleeves throw me off a little bit. It reminds me of a black "grandma sweater" or a black thermal. I would have preferred the material they used for the pants, which seems to be made out of a much tougher material and includes functioning thigh pockets. The belt looks fantastic with a nice gun-metal buckle with bright silver scuffs on it. All of the pouches are made out of smooth polyester and have some detailed brown paint here and there to add more realism to the piece. They also include magnets on the straps to holster everything in securely. One of these did come off on me, but I was able to super-glue it back together. The boots look great too! Not only are they sculpted with all kinds of little stitching details, laces, and wrinkles; but the paint compliments the sculpt perfectly. We get subtle black and brown wash over the white boots along with clean black and silver paint for the laces. Let's not forget the detailed treads sculpted under the boots. That looks good too.

ARTICULATION: The head and neck allow the figure to look up a good amount, as well as turn side-to-side and it provides some tilting action in case you wanted to pose him cracking some pops out of his neck. The shoulders shift up and down and move outward at 90 degrees. The shoulders allow forward movement, along with there being a bicep swivel, double jointed elbows, and the wrists swivel as well as hinge up and down. He has both mid-torso and waist joints that allow for forward and back crunching, pivoting, and each swivel horizontally. The hips can move outward and forward a very good amount, as well as there being thigh swivel, double jointed knees that bend in just little past 90 degrees, and boot swivel . . . that's it . . . no ankle articulation at all. That has to be the biggest down-side of this figure for me. With all that articulation, it feels like it's being wasted without proper ankle movement.

HEIGHT: I measured the figure to stand about 12 and half inches tall, which I think is good. He stands taller than the Sideshow Wolverine, and he's about the same size as Deadpool. When compared to the Hot Toys Captain America Civil War figure, he stands just a little shorter than Cap, which isn't bad at all.

CONCLUSION: So if you're going to spend over 200 bucks on a 1/6 scale action figure, this Punisher figure is not a bad place to go. I honestly really like posing it around and I mostly like the accessories. If the fake weapons really bother you, I can understand that, but since I know next to nothing about guns, it doesn't bother me at all. The articulation is really good, but the lack of ankle movement is very frustrating for me. That could be a deal breaker for some collectors. Otherwise a very good piece, and I hope you guys enjoyed this review. If you did, please leave us a comment below and let us know how we're doing, and I'll catch you guys later. PEACE!
