Hasbro marketing and design team members discuss what's new for the remainder of 2007 and give a sneak peak of what's in store for Spider-Man and Marvel products in Spring 2008. This panel began at 1:00 PM PST. Keep it right here for live updates as the panel unfolds.

The panel includes Jerry, Steve Rettengner, David Vaughner, Michelle, Dave Qunets, Scott George. The session started with a Q&A session since panel members forgot their computer.

Q: Any chance of Squirrel Girl figure?
A: Dave from Hasbro wants a Peter Porker figure. Hasbro is doing a 6" Spider-Man build-a-series coming out in the Fall. Mary Jane Watson will be part of the Spider-Man 6" line which will include characters from all 3 movies.

Q: Will there be any Star Wars Marvel Legends scale figures?
A: That possibility is being considered, similar to the new Spider-Man Unleashed figures.

Q: Will the harder-to-find Toy Biz variants be re-released?
A: It's possible. They are looking at that kind of stuff

Q: Will the Dr. Doom figure in the FF Legends line have a removable mask?
A: They believe it will, the prototype does.

Q: Will there be Marvel Transformers?
A: Hasbro is looking at all the expressions for these lines.

Q: Will any of the Toy Biz figures that never got released like X-Babies or Frog Of Thunder be released?
A: Hasbro is looking at a lot of these options.

Q: Will they ever make large-scale Build-A-Figures?
A: Hasbro asked if fans would be willing to more figures in the wave if large figures were produced? Most the crowd said yes, as long as they are not variants.

A: They are working on Hulk and Iron Man (Movie) lines but can't comment on them now.

The computer arrived, and the panel showed slides.

Spider-Man 360 Unleashed
The figure has awesome articulation and great bases. Spider-Man & Venom are on shelves now and have full distribution in August.

6" Spider-Man is back and is due out this Fall. This line includes Build-A-Figure Sandman. For kids, there will be the Ultimate Web Blaster. Spider-Man Web World will be a kid-friendly line, 2 1/2" inches with playsets which also work with 5" figures.

Free Super Hero Squad magnet is being handed out at the Hasbro Booth. A new website will be launching as well.

Fantastic Four Build-A-Series will be 6" and will include the FF along with Dr. Doom, Silver Surfer, Namor, Mole Man. Ronin is the build-a-figure. Signature series continues with the FF and Dr. Doom will be coming out.

Marvel Legends series 3 will have a Variant Marvel Girl and Hydra solider. The Marvel Girl packaged backwards will have only 500 released.

Marvel Legends wave 1 of 2008 will include NOVA, Astonishing Beast, Black Bolt and First Appearance Dare Devil. Black Bolt will have a variant, one black and one blue. Punisher and Tigra round the wave out with a Holocaust build-a-figure. Crossbones will be a chase of Punisher. Pics of these will be in the booth later today, look for more images to come.

Magneto Icons helmet will come out. Also look for Phoenix (Dark as well) and Colosuss. Cosmic Silver Surfer will be a Target exclusive. 6" Domino/Cannonball and Cable/Marvel Girl will be Wal-Mart exclusive packs available in October. Marvel Legends Black Queen 6" figure will be a TRU exclusive.

Any leftover SDCC exclusives will be available at HasbroToyShop.com. No FF Legends variants are planned at this time. Look for Iron Man movie figures at Toy Fair in Feburary 2008.

Back to Hasbro Q&A

Q: What's your reaction to the news of Mattel getting the DC Master Toy License?
A: Hasbro thinks it's great.

Q: Will there be FF Animated figures?
A: That depends on the entertainment end. They are not sure where it stands.

Q: Fan says he's really happy with the look at the new Marvel figures shown at SDCC this weekend. Will the quality make it to the final product?
A: They hope so; there was a learning curve with the first few waves and hope the new figures will be something everyone is happy with.

Q: Will anything replace the Build-A-Series?
A: They are looking at options to see what's viable.

Q: Will more paint applications be added to the figures?
A: Hasbro has gotten mixed reviews; some people like them and some don't. It will depend on the figure, and what it looks like with the final product. Some washes just don't work well.

Q: Did you take any of the Toy Biz design team on or mentor with them?
A: In some respects. They have worked closely with people like Jesse Falcon.

Q: Are there any plans for something like a 4-series build-a-series?
A: They are going back to 6 figures per wave on Marvel Legends.

Q: Will we see a new version of Onslaught?
A: Nothing is in the plans at the moment. One of the fun things of their job is debating which characters get included in a wave, and Marvel does have a say in that.

Q: Articulation seems to be disappearing. Why?
A: Articulation is a case by case thing. Sometimes they want to try and hide it as much as possible.
Q: Will the articulated toes be there?
A: No.

First Appearance Storm will be made. There also will be a fan poll done in Toy Fare magazine. Jim Lee style X-Men figures are on the radar.

Articularion of current figures don't seem to be able to move as well as they used to. Yes, some characters like Spider-Man needs the articulation. This is handled on a case by case basis and is something Hasbro is looking at. They are looking to complete teams in the Marvel Legends as we look to the future to help complete people's collections.

With Iron Man movie, we might see re-releases of Toy Biz Iron Man figures? They have no knowledge of a Fing-Fang Foom wave. They leaked no information, and anything on the net is unconfirmed.
