2009 SDCC Preview Night: Marvel Universe Walmart Exclusive Series

if anyone can score a upc i can look them up to see if they are even in the system yet.

Man, all of a sudden Marvel has cooled Bucky like a popsicle! When this series started I didn't even want a Steve Rogers Capt. America; I wanted a Bucky Capt. America. Everyone at my local comic shop (myself included) is a little bummed they're bringing Steve Rogers back because Bucky makes such an awesome Cappy. Kind of goes with Marvel's whole schtick about giving their heroes a lot of limitations and real-world problems-Bucky has great, thorny character and an appealing mix of insecurity and almost subconscious adroit combat skills.

I don't have any place for giant figures-nor do I really want to bring them into my collection (for some reason I hope that Hank Pym Wasp and Stature might arrive as normal-sized figs), but I'm getting the Bucky Cap pack for Bucky Cap alone. Yup!

Seriously: anyone have an idea when these might come out? I guess I'm too excited. Captain America in shiny body armor with a pistol and a knife and his shield! Too awesome.

Those are some cool packs. The Bucky/Captain America is so awesome. I def like the Giant Man/Goliath. I can't wait to pick it up and paint it to look like Ultimate Giant Man. I have the Build a Figure Giant Man but I couldn't force myself to paint it knowing how hard it was to find all the figures to complete the BAF.

I though the rule was that "cool" and "Bucky" were never supposed to be spoken in the same line of thought, JK. I've been jonesing for a Winter Soldier Cap for so long and it looks awesome. Here's hoping we get one in both MU and ML.

When are these supposed to start hitting Walmart?

12 a.m. Wal-Mart trips are definitely the way to go. Best selection of products (as usually there are pallets out) and few people.

Do like I do, go at Wal-Mart at 12. AM. That way you don't see anyone hardly.

i just hate the idea of having to look through wal-marts to get these figures. going to wal-mart makes me feel like an elitist snob, and even if that's true, i don't want to think about it!

what about a trip to wal mart could ever make you feel like an elitist snob? i work at wal mart and i see the nastiest of the nasty folk everyday. Im talkin ladys with nothing but sweat pants on pulled up past their boobs and hunched over so they dont fall out of them. Ladys with skirts that their tummies go farther down than their skirt does. working in a store those people shop in makes me know beyond a shaow of a doubt that I am not elite in any way form or fassion. maybe a snob (because i dont speak to them), but not elite.
