2005 Toy Fair Coverage: WWE Figures

Jay Cochran - February 24, 2005

Our 2005 New York International Toy Fair Coverage continues with a look at some of what Jakks Pacific has coming in 2005 for their World Wrestling Entertainment line. Things to note are that there will be a Rock figure coming up in a 3-pack set that will be a Wal-Mart exclusive. Why is this such big news? Because it is the last Rock figure that Jakks will ever do.

The Ruthless Aggression figurse are being redesigned to include additional articulation, double knee joints, better hips, etc. and will probably come in new packaging that will signal a restart to the line in about 5 to 6 months.

Other exclusives include a Rowdy Roddy Piper with new head sculpt (1 of 100) and a boxing Rowdy Roddy (1 of 3,000) for Toyfare magazine and a 2-pack of Steve Austin vs. Jake Roberts and a Wrestle Mania 21 with gear set for TRU.

Jakks is planning to release a 2x2 giant ring set with figures, retailing for about $39.99, There will probably be accessory packs for the ring, such as a steel cage, as well as occasional new ring sets released. Jakks also had on display a "Face Flippin' Fighters" line where the wrestlers can go from passive to enraged with a push of a button. On hand at the presentation were Terry Funk and Stacey Keebler, shaking hands and answering questions.
