2018 Unboxing Toy Convention Hasbro Marvel Panel

I'm glad that Hasbro generally does a great job with these. I think of figures like Silver Samurai and Nova- characters I never really cared one way or another about- and see them brought to "life" by Hasbro, and think, WOW, what a fantastic piece of work. Then there's She-Hulk- a character I don't even LIKE- and they made her one of the best figures I've seen. We gripe a lot on this forum ( and will continue to do so!) but I gotta give credit where its due. Love my collection!!

its the internet, so of course people can't just say they don't like a figure, its gotta be that nobody likes it. I do find it annoying when people say that, but you gotta pick your battles and its usually not worth getting bothered about. personally, was glad to pick up Living Laser and Grey Gargoyle last year, in addition to the x-men and spidey rogues we got. Glad we got Doom and are getting the Leader this year, too.

I've given up on ever seeing a comic based classic IM line or wave, everything seems centered on movie versions. IM has one of the greatest rogue's gallery of villians in comics & Hasbro has yet to make 1 good comic based version of any of them. They used an Ironman villain for the Antman/Wasp movie & then go with the gender switch on him. Did they even release it as a figure?

Actually, rather than the classic Sentry 459 this figures design looks more like Sentry 571, who fought with and was defeated by Iron Man. I'm probably way off but I'm hoping between this guy, Living Laser and Nighthawk (who was a member of Stark's Initiative), these reveals are eluding to a comic based Iron Man wave. Aside from the BAF, the other 2 figs are reused bucks which leaves plenty of funding for a new Iron Man and/or War Machine sculpts. Just a thought, or a pipe dream.

Haha yeah I liked the post you made with the side by side shot of Kree Sentry and DP MM. Definitely some similarities there. Regardless I certainly do hope that Hasbro can get us a classic Sentry in the future. I'll be honest though since I always prefer the classic looks to modern takes on characters.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The figure they did looks like the people that were compressed after death in "Phantasm" & ended up dwarfs, that's what this fig reminds me of & not in a good way. Too marvel mashers looking.

Living laser and the sentry are awesome. I wish it was the modern Nighthawk.

From what I see, it's not that the Kirby design is too tough to capture, I think it has to do more with how cool an action has to look for it to sell better. The old Kirby design, while great for it's time, still looks like a "spandex costume". The contour of the character is smooth whereas the new Hasbro figure design adds depth to the design.
