Wow, that Mafex AoA Cyclops is better than Hasbros in nearly every way. The hair, the visor and lens, the scar, the armor, and especially the optic blast effects. And he hasboots!

Im not sure why toy companies keep putting red "smoke" coming from his visor. Aren't his eyes blasts just concussive force? Not heat releated at all?

I may be wrong but it seems like I read that as a kid somewhere.

As far as I know, you are correct. But a lot of artists have drawn the smoky effect over the years, so I guess toy makers see it when looking for reference art.

That AOA Wolverine is something I'm digging, I always liked that look, I didn't really love the ML figure though, it was trying but it seemed low effort, I just loved AOA as a kid, I followed that story hard, still own every single number 1 issue of each of the various books, and I got all of the ML, but wasn't super thrilled with those figures, This Logan is cool though, never cared for Cyclops in this look however, Mafex ain't really doing it that amazing either.

Cyclopss effects look awesome. BUT, can someone explain to me why on earth people keep making AOA Cyclopses that are clean shaven? The guy had scruff, it was part of his look! Even the original, 90s Toybiz version got that right. I just cant understand why they keep leaving that out - literally the only reason I skipped the ML figure.

I had to draw facial hair on my ML copy to make it look more accurate. Also, I don't think Cyclops is too bothered with maintaining facial hygiene in a post-APOCALYPtic (pun intended) world.

Why must they give Weapon X blank eyes? What purpose does it serve? Hasbro could have done a better job with their AOA Cyke. Maybe not what Mafex did. But they could have included an extra head and hands.
