isn't this Actionverse 3 pack, just the same 3 figures they already released in singles? it looks like it but I'm no expert, so why bother? if it doesn't come with anything new or have any differences, when you can just buy these individually ? what's the point here?

I agree with the previous two posters in part but disagree in other ways. First recognize the limitations of my perspective: Im a relatively new collectorI started in summer 2024. I exclusively collect X-Men. My collecting began as a desire to modernize my old toy biz toys after watching X-Men 97. Id love to expand my collection, but I would rather do one thing REALLY well than a bunch half assed when it comes to financial choices Keep in mind everything I say is from those two perspectives:

I agree Ive have this years offerings underwhelming but only because they are not X-Men related. Im always impressed and tempted by a great number of figures. Last year I got absolutely hammered, I did math and 46% of all figures were X-Men adjacent. It was a very expensive year for me.

I m in the minority of Legends collectors who accepts the price increases. 1) I recognize Hasbro is a business beholden to shareholders and consumers will bear the brunt of that. I also recognize the shifting economy and market. I dare anyone to name an industry that is absorbing the costs for consumers. At the grocery store I pay more for oranges and receive the same or fewer oranges. I can tolerate this reality for Hasbro figures.

Another common complaint is reuse which Im mostly happy to accept if it means I get more figures. I am happy to have Corsair, Vulcan and Cyclops share a body if it means I get all three. I realize there are a great number of characters who require special sculpting but again I recognize the budgetary limitations of Hasbros tooling. I hate my Avalanche his slender he should be short and chonky like the cartoon, but Id rather have him than not because his absence from my Brotherhood display would be far more annoying than a subpar version.

I honestly feel Hasbro has significantly increased the quality of their accessories. Everyone laments the old days when figures were packed out and I do not. I absolutely hate that stupid effect that came with Dazzler, Jubilee, Scarlet Witch and the weird bubble things that came with Havoc Polaris and so many others. Today were getting unique FX pieces. Jubilee finally got firework effects worthy of her powersand the best in action figure form. The New Enchantress effect is WONDERFUL. The lightening effect that came with female electro and Maximum Thor is leaps and bounds better than that crappy wrap around stuff. I see value in better accessories and will accept less accessories that will just sit in a bag if I get better fewer better pieces. The fact I get fewer hands or less accessories but higher quality is something I not only except, but would choose if given the choice.

Legends also have the BEST head sculpts in the 1:12 scale game. No one will every show me a Mafex or S.H. figuarts head that is better than a modern Legends head. Mezco and Hot Toys are only better because they are 1:6 and have more sculpting space. Im in the minority because I prefer Hasbro articulation to imports, mostly because there is a huge trade off. In my experience imports are much more delicate and Legends can take much more abuse- in hand they feel more solid.

In the end I dont love paying $27.99 for a figure with 1 head and two spare ahnds but I realize thats how it works sometimes. Everyone complained about the Deathbird/Gladiator two pack but honestly, what accessories did Death Bird Need? Her sculpting was immaculatead those gladiator heads were leaps and bounds better than the previous version. I can accept that.

I also appreciate Hasbro reissuing old figures. Anyone who complains about Hasbro prices must not have spent much time looking at old figures on the after-market. Retro Beast is a nice $200 when you can find him. Im totally willing pay Hasbro $39.99 for a reissue instead of $200. For new collectors this is a huge deal. Even though the reissues are not figures I am interested in, it means eventually I will get ones I am.

I have fairly modern figures and I would not hesitate to upgrade them if there was an improvement. Rumor is theres a new Jim Lee Cyclops next year, Im guessing Gamer verse. If that effect and head sculpt is good Yeah Ill upgrade 1-2 of my cyclops. Is it marginal? Yes but if I like it better totally worth it to me.

I think everyone is really nailing Hasbro when they have very real budgetary constraints and facing economic pressures like everyone else. Ill take what I can get, because Id rather have that than nothing. I make things work with what I can.

While it is very cool that we live in a time where our action figure options are considerably vast and not without options, I've generally been underwhelmed with the majority of this year's reveals. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for what we got and there have definitely been some standouts, but it feels like we got so much reuse.

I agree. The standouts this year were Gargantos, Max Thor, and Executioner (for me) the rest just kinda fall flat. It's better versions of things I have (Abominatio, Elektra, Doc Samson) or new characters that are essentially lazy kitbashes. Stuff like Hypno Hustler and Marina were cool to be made and steps in the right direction, but I just wasn't super excited for them. I just really want the Avengers lineups finished and a few human form Beasts for the first two X Men looks and two more for X Factor. I've lost all hope that I'll ever get the Warriors Three, and it hurts. Well get some more of the obscure villains I want, and that's cool, but I'm just not getting pumped for much lately. The price increases aren't helping since I want more and more out of these figures to justify the very real cost analysis I have to do compared to a few years ago.

Does Iron Man not have a Player 2 repaint? I assume he would be in some blue colors or the Warmachine version of this armor.. why market thus wave as Player 2 but give the same colors as previous releases (I know, the first release was Gold)..

Ah yes, Gargantos and his lovely mate, Gargantress. Finally, the display will be complete.

In my world, it would have to be something like Shumara-Gorath, but either way, high-five to your imagination.

I'll be opting out of the Pepto-Bismol edition myself. Still waiting to pull the trigger on the regular green one. Curious how much demand there'll actually be for this variant though.
