I think the same can be said for action figures- hasbo should have fired off some Nova figures (original first appearance, New Warriors look) at that time. Also failing to capture momentum, was not doing the Warriors Three when the Thor movies came out, or more recently, not hitting that Fantastic Four vein when that came out.
I feel like ever since Eternals they have really shied away from not just movie waves, but major tie ins. They learned the wrong lesson there. The fact that we don't have a BND wave with that Hulk as the baf is crazy. Spidey, Punisher (which they are literally putting out now anyway) Scorpion, Boomerang, whoever the hell Sadie is, Tombstone, Tarantula. There done.

Releasing Nova post Secret Wars now seems far too late to capture that momentum, at least narratively it will have far weaker standing.

They need to tap someone better to write a treatment for this, Waldron hasn't had anything that's been great. If they're going to do this, they need to get it right, looking at the character from Annihilation forward, he deserves the right kind of movie, show, whatever, or just don't bother making it, can't handle another project like Moon Knight. Since they destroyed Xandar, they could do a modified version of the origin story that uses the attack by Thanos as a stand-in for Annihilation Day.
Meh, this is giving me Sony Spider-Properties vibes. I used to like Nova in the comics, but eventually it just fizzled out. For one thing, what is the Nova Corps, other than Marvel's answer to the Green Lantern Corps....except without the power rings. As in the Cool Stuff. On the other hand he's been shown to go toe-to-toe with Thor and Gladiator...so there's that.
I hope he paid attention to GOTG and all the heavy lifting Gunn did already. Darien Day and why he'd come to Earth after Thanos' destruction of his planet is already established. No need to rewrite that whole part of his orgin.
