Asa Germann Joins Marvel’s X-Men as Angel

Marvel Studios is expanding its new X-Men cast, with Gen V star Asa Germann joining the superhero pic as the winged mutant Angel.

Germann joins a cast of heroes that includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Christopher Abbott as Professor X and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver is set to play classic X-Men villain Mr. Sinister in the film, which is directed by Jake Schreier, who previously helmed Thunderbolts. The movie is slated for release May 5, 2028.

Angel previously appeared in Fox’s X-Men: The Last Stand, with Ben Foster playing the character as an adult and Cayden Boyd portraying him as a child. Ben Hardy played Angel’s darker alter ego, Archangel, in X-Men: Apocalypse.

Germann broke out as Sam Riordan in Amazon’s superhero series Gen V, the The Boys spinoff. The show was canceled earlier this year after two seasons. Other credits include Scream 7 and Netflix’s Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

This is my thought exactly. Same with the original X-Men. I mean who the hell was Hugh Jackman? Patrick Stewart and Halle Berry were the big names at the time. Even Ian McKellen wasn't a huge name at that point. That was pre-Lotr.

I do sure, he's from that The Boys Spin off? right? the V School? anyways sure, I mean he doesn't really look like much, kinda seems a bit bland, I mean the kit guy is giving Gen Z bland as well, but I guess that's what the new generation looks like, they all just seem to uninteresting "dudes" but I reserve actual judgment until I see his performance, I mean he doesn't look wrong for the part, be he also just gives meek and timid.

You both are probably right, but I'd rather we got to know and love the character first, so his "death" means something. Give us at least one movie with him as just Angel. Then do the Mutant Massacre in earnest for the second movie.

"kill him off" to really drive the impact of mutant hatred. Then bring him back as archangel obv. They've done a solid job with the casting

I'm going to guess by the end of the film he will fall.

Casting seems fine.

Oh.. also was not a fan of Downey at all at the time of his casting.. so it goes to show if the writing is good and the actor brings it, opinions can be changed..

I was hoping for more of a 616 Year One thing, but I figured that was just wishful thinking.

I've been railing on about Marvel using young relatively unknown actors for these characters. So, I'm happy. Superheroes aren't supposed to be guys the same age or older than me. Plus imagine what they'll actually be able to put into effects when they aren't spending like 200 million on a few actors. I'm going to see the X Men not any particular actor.

I'm pretty on board with these casting choices, I mean most of them are young and don't have a ton of credits so they are fresh slates which is a great thing.

Obviously Adam Driver just seems like an excellent choice for Mr. Sinister, I had heard this rumouring swirling around so it doesn't come as a shock he ended up actually getting the role.

I have never seen Kit Connor or Inde Navarette in anything so I have no idea about them, but hey seems good, I have faith.

Aside from Driver, Im only familiar with Inde. But I will say that her performance in Obsession was INCREDIBLE. Like absolutely unforgettable.

Literally the only thing that makes me pause is that shes about 4 1/2 ft tall lol. But so is RDJ and they make that work.

It's the alias he used while he ran the orphanage that Cyclops and Havok ended up in!

Ah I see, thanks
