6" Scale The Wrecking Crew By FinnVarra

by Jay Cochran
March 13, 2011
This Marvelous Customs were done by FinnVarra who has created some custom 6" Marvel Legends scale Wrecking Crew figures.

Here is how FinnVarra describes the making of these figures:

Decided to use 7 inch wrestling figures for bases, so they tower over normal ML scale figures.

Excavator is Pildriver's son. He only appeared briefly in Runaways, but he was still an official member so I thought I'd make him anyway.

The masks were pretty simple. I just used a piece of strip styrene for the edges of the mask, smoothed some sculpt over the ears and painted it.

The Crowbar is from a Wild Cats: Maul figure.

ok I have a few questions for you Fnn:

Where can I get some styrene?

What type of sculpt clay did you use for the mask?

What type of paint do you use?

The paint seems really good because I detect no rub whatsoever.

once again, great job my friend

BTW: I can't call the other base figs you used, but Batista for Thunderball is nice design.

I always get my styrene off Ebay. Evergreen and Plastruct are the best brands.

I always use Aves Apoxie Sculpt for all my sculpting needs.

I mainly use Vallejo Game Color, but sometimes I use Citadel or Tamiya.

I try my best to handle paint rub issues first. So the first thing I paint on a figure is always the jjoints. It's easier to fix rub issues then since you don't have to worry about messing up the paint job.

Yep, thats a Batista. Bulldozer is a Mark Henry, Wrecker is Hercules with the lower half from a Scott Steiner, Excavator is a FF: movie Johnny Storm, and Piledriver is some random wrestler with a Colossus head.

Thanks for the kind words man!

wow!!! Impressive.

never heard of excavator. Is that Piledriver's son?

The Masks, are they sculpted or layered over another piece of material?
