Yes they were, I just think that character like AOA Beast with low reissue/repaint potential getting brand new and unique lower half seemed odd investment, when Ghost Rider has the exact same headsculpt for 8 years now.

Tbh I'm surprised that they didn't reuse shoulders and biceps for him, he's all new, which seems surprising since I doubt he will get any reuse, come to think of it neither will Age of Apocalypse Beast. and I actually do prefer this slightly smaller size for Beast.

I wonder if we will eventually get Grant's New X-Men figures, just 5 figures of Cyclops, Emma, Logan, Jean and Beast. I'm sure they can reuse some parts of this Beast too.

70s into 80s is a great run. Outback X-Men is a total favorite of mine. You have so much fun content ahead.

By the way, Hasbro made Danger early on in series 3. Its not great, as it suffers from early Hasbro scale issues, but it is what it is. I dont see them remaking that now.

I'm not so sure... with Danger appearing in '97 season 2.

Yeah Xorn... I actually quite liked Corn. Until I didn't. The U-men were a bit much for me. But then I think about the U-men n the hands of Kevin Feige and im less irked.

This figure desperately needs wash and dry brush; in capable hands, it would be very easy to make this figure look almost high-end.

I never really read Astonishing, but he looked this way for quite a while. I love Beast, so I did order this. I want every version of him. I actually really want a more recent variation where he looked more ape like, with a huge canine toothed underbite. But my No. 1 want is his second Uncanny costume in his "human" form and the easy repaint for his XFactor look.

And am I crazy for not loving the Apocalypse wave version? I like that he can stand on his hand, but the joints are clunky, the face is not great and the blue is too bright imo. I honestly want an all new version of the iconic look as well, maybe as an Avengers figure. A little smaller and scruffier with an "A" on his belt instead of an "X".

Honestly this figure is great, I have little attachement however to this iteration of beast, I didn't pay much attention at the time to the Astonishing Series, so none of this team is on my list to build, I never was sure how I felt about Cat face Beast, it just didn't feel right, but this figure is so darn good looking, they really did a good job here, it almost makes me want this figure I just currently am not getting it and likely won't, but because it's fun and looks good it's hard, but I just don't have any sort of connect with Astonishing, I hear people say it started off good and I should read it, but at this point I don't care about this team.

Im not familiar with Astonishing, but looking at this figuredid Beast actually lose a couple of fingers with that cat-like secondary mutation?

Anyway, the team looks pretty good in figure form.

And I wish Hasbro would reissue that lab coat version of Beast with the neutral face sculpt.

So, Astonishing X-Men was the very first run of comics I ever read when I was in college. I loved X-Men as a kid thanks to the cartoon. When I read the run I sort of just... didn't know was unimpressed. Towards the end of college I read all of Civil War, ALL OF IT. All 4000ish pages. I want to figure out to display them with Wolverine and Cyclops fighting and finger pointing, and the others frustrated and arms crossed or shaking their head. That's seems like a worthy inclusion.
