The answer is simple, because they are not the definitive figures!
Spiderman, no molded webs and a horrible sculped face, no even the blue color is right. Hulk, that gummy that will become yellow in 6 months and now Thor ... Hasbro always leaves place for improvement because thats their bussines, they always will want you to buy a new version that is "better"
Gotta agree about this look. Why make the Maximum "definitive" figure of a short lived outfit? It seems they keep pulling a defeat out of an assured victory. I have fallen for all of these figures. Spidey is great, but overpriced. Same with DP. Hulk is a figure I love and have a blast with, but I refused to pose him on a shelf type, permanent, set up due to fear of cracking or wear on that chest piece, just like I talked about the minute they revealed him. I ordered the Thor cause it's Thor and I need all Thor figures. But yes, this is not the look they should have chosen for the ultimate, perfect "one Thor you Need" figure. Dwight even seemed to agree in the reveal panel. Kinda wish he had pushed back a bit more.

, that aside, I never really cared about this specific look for Thor, I just don't really need much more then the 80th classic, which in all reality is what this should have been plus extra fancy bells & whistles, I don't know but I feel like this wasn't the Thor in demand, and the fact the 80th is so definitive it should have been this figure, I apperciate the special do-dads, but like I see no need for this one for me, I'm actually thankful so far none of these maximum figures have been a want, they seem overpriced IMO.
Kaitlyn Jenner is that you?
Overall, it's a decent figure. The balljoint waist alone is reason enough to get it, but the head sculpt or more specifically the hair just doesn't work for me. The volume is excessive; while that style might work with certain scenes, it's not ideal for vanilla posing.
I'm curious how a Marvel Select Coipel Thor head would fit this body. If the fit is good, we might have a kitbash recipe for the perfect Coipel Thor.
