Netflix Looking At A Marvel Series Every 6 Months: Jessica Jones Coming Later This Year & Possible Punisher Series

According to Variety reporter Laura Prudom who has been tweeting live from the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour, Netflix looks to air a Marvel Comics based series every 6 months.

She also confirms previous reports that once Netflix has debuted all 4 of it's initial Marvel Based series (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Iron Fist ) they will launch a crossover series which will focus on an Avengers-like team called The Defenders.

Once all four Marvel Netflix shows have been launched, they'll cross over for Defenders, but "some will selectively have multiple seasons"

Meanwhile IGN is reporting that the Netflix series focusing on Jessica Jones will air in the 4th quarter of 2015 which would likely make it's air date sometime in either November or December. The 13 episode series will include star Krysten Ritter as the title character, along with Mike Colter ("Luke Cage"), David Tennant (Kilgrave / The Purple Man), Rachael Taylor ("Trish "Patsy" Walker") and Carrie-Anne Moss ("Harper").

Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos was also quoted as saying that The Punisher who will first appear in the second season of Daredevil and be played by actor Jon Bernthal could be slated for his own stand-alone series sometime down the road.
