Rachel McAdams In Talks For Female Lead In Marvel's 'Doctor Strange'

Outsiders - July 28, 2015
Speaking to the LA Times, Rachel McAdams has confirmed she is in early talks to play the female lead in Marvel's Doctor Strange. She mentions that it was “early days” but that she is considering boarding the project opposite Benedict Cumberbatch.

The Marvel project is being directed by Scott Derrickson from a re-drafted script by Jon Spaihts, which the first draft was penned by Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer.

Doctor Strange was hatched by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko during that Marvel Comics heyday of the early 1960s. He’s a neurosurgeon who becomes Sorcerer Supreme, protecting Earth against magical and mystical threats with powers of sorcery, mysticism, and martial arts.

Disney has set the film for release on November 4th, 2016 and also stars besides Cumberbatch is Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor. It was reported last month that Ejiofor will be playing Baron Mordo, an enemy of Doctor Strange who first appeared in the comic Strange Tales in 1963.
