Hasbro on Friday revealed the entire first wave of
X-Men Marvel Legends figures coming in 2025. This will be a six figure wave with a Build-A-Figure that will be going up for pre-order at places like our sponsors
BigBadToyStore.com and
Entertainment Earth in early January. The wave breaks down as follows:
- Age Of Apocalypse Gambit - This figure includes a staff and alternate hands. It also has a cloak and It has pin-less arms and legs. The figure uses brown and blue colors and a new headsculpt. In some comics it had greens and in some browns, but they went with brown for this figure.
- X-Treme X-Men Wolverine - This figure includes 3 pairs of hands and now BAF piece. He has combat fatigue black pants. Ryan would love to do a X-Treme X-Men Rogue and Storm.
- Acolytes Fabian Cortez - Includes 2 Power Effects for his hands and alternate hands. It also includes the Nemesis Left Leg. The figure has a ponytail and a removable cape. The figure has pin-less arms and legs.
- Generation X Husk - This figure includes two headsculpts, a normal one and one with here skin being torn off her metal face. She also comes with a chunk of flesh and alternate hands so you can make it look like she is ripping the skin off her face. The body is pretty much the same one used with the previous Generation X Monet figure with a few minor updates. The figure also includes the Torso/Head for Nemesis.
- Marrow - This figure is based on her 90s/early 2000 look. Has bones sticking out her back. She has two bone swords and alternate hands. She has pin-less arms and legs. She also has the left arm for Nemesis.
Note while talking about Marrow who appears in the
Marvel vs Capcom video games along with their recent Cable figure that wears the outfit from those games, Ryan suggested maybe they are teasing a greater theme. This MIGHT be a reference to the Marvel vs. Capcom subline that has been
RUMORED to be coming in 2025.
- X-Factor Cyclops (Blue and Yellow) - This figure comes with a new updated optic blast and two headsculpts (One for optic blast and regular one). This figure uses the Vulcan body. They also asked in the live-stream if people want to see more figures based on the original X-Factor team. This figure comes with the right arm for Nemesis.
- Uncanny X-Force Nightcrawler - This figure includes a sword, two headsculpts and multiple hands. The two headsculpts have different eye colors, again because in the comics he was shown with different eye (Yellow and red) colors. This figure has pin-less arms and legs. Ryan in the live-stream made sure to note that Uncanny X-Force is an interesting team, possibly hinting more members from that team will be getting the figure treatment. This figure also includes the dome and back piece for Nemesis.
The
Build-A-Figure for this wave is
Nemesis. This is a more modern version of the character which is why it looks different from the previous Holocaust/Nemesis figure Hasbro did years ago. This is one of Dwights favorite figures he has ever worked on. The figure has tubes on the back that attach to his right arm cannon. The dome is removable and the skull head can turn and has an articulated jaw. The Skull head is also encased in fire.
When Hasbro provides a specific pre-order date for this wave we will be sure to update you here. This will be the second Marvel Legends wave released in 2025.

And while we're at, Mimic from the Exiles doing the same thing...optic blasts and Wolverine claws!
So yeah, Max line Rogue with tons of alt limbs and power fx! And Mimic is definitely on my must haves list for sure, but I want the first non mutant leader of the XMen look before the Exiles look. But I'd bet the Exiles version would be made before the original X Men look. Well, if I were betting I'd guess we don't get him at all, but I hope we do!

Idk if anyone has mentioned this yet, but a reason Hasbro is giving us this version of genocide is because the character just appeared in Heir of Apocalypse (Late 2024). The last time, I think, he made an appearance was back in Uncanny X-Force.But, then again, this wave is also giving us Uncanny X-Force AoA Nightcrawler, so maybe that's the reason?

And in the comics he is very specifically referred to as Genocide and he has a human identity as well where Holocaust/Nemesis does not which brings one to wonder why they continue to call it the Nemesis wave. Was it a bait and switch or was it another Hasbro/Marvel research blunder that tends to happen when they constantly use Google for source material? Maybe in the end it might just be because Nemesis doesn't sound nearly as disturbing as either Holocaust or Genocide on product packaging.
We were already on that vein of thinking. I'll refer you to the following where I pointed out they were two different versions of the Nemesis character at an earlier time.
I'm going with both the bait and switch idea and well they had to change the name.

With Hasbro's tendency to eventually go back and try to outdo both older Toybiz era figures but also Hasbro's own older figures during what Sharty lovingly calls the Dark Days of ML I would bet good money that they will eventually get around to doing the actual Holocaust/Nemesis version of this character in a Deluxe set or multi pack eventually. You rarely see Hasbro redoing older BAFs as new BAFs. As a matter of fact I personally don't remember the last time they did it that way. I may be wrong though. But usually when they redo a BAF they do it in Deluxe format. This is the case with Blob, MODOK, Ronan, Red Hulk etc. Furthermore Galactus, Sentienl and Giant Man were done as Haslabs. The only one that comes to mind is the 2nd Onslaught they did as a BAF but much like this version of Nemesis versus the last it was a complete different version of the character.

Looks okay to me. Of course I'm sure we'd all like a comic and storyline accurate version but until that happens or even if it happens this will be good enough. Plus like you said it's a new figure with new sculpting and it looks super cool. And the majority of the figures in the wave are a solid 5 or higher and we actually have the option of passing on another Wolverine so I'll call it 7 figures for the price of 6. Which is what the entire BAF system was supposed to be about. Plus I do still have the older version which aside from the obvious articulation issues still holds up based on the uniqueness of it alone.
And I honestly do expect to see a redo of the original eventually. My best guess is in a multi-pack. It would be great to have him be packed with another character we haven't gotten from AoA but with Hasbro's history it's more likely they'll pack a new sculpt with an old sculpt and maybe do a redeco of Sabretooth or Sinister.
That's because it isn't Nemesis/Holocaust, it's Genocide, a different character.

I know there are collectors out there who will show this Nemesis some love and find a nice place for it on their shelves.
