Today's Marvelous Collector:
Name: Eric Jaskolka aka Eric The Ultimate X-Man
Location: West Des Moines, IA
When did you start collecting? Comics in 1989, toys in 1991. I have written an article for Tomart and featured on all 3 major news stations in my area.
What is your favorite or most-wanted Marvel Collectible? Prototype of an action figure line never made. See the picture of the Hornby Wolverine on card. Marvel was soliciting companies for mini playsets in the early 1990's. Hornby did not make the cut. What was made were the Toybiz Pocket Comics.
I love Marvel toys because: I can relate to the X-Men and Wolverine (my favorite character). I appreciate the diversity they represent and how they fight to survive and accept the challenges they are faced with daily.
Be sure to take a look at the photos below of Eric's Marvelous Collection. Eric truly deserves the title of The Ulimate X-Man.

that place looks like a freakin' toy store. WOW. awsome collection, i offically hate you now.
Thank you. and I'm not here to be hated, but I am the best at what I do!!! lol
Eric
pocket comic?..
Pocket Comics were tiny playsets, with 2 figures, think MicroMachines. Do a search on ebay and you'll find several of them. And they came with a collector's card of the cover of a comic book.
It's like one of Stan Lee's wet dreams!!!!It's a brilliant collection!
I noticed you have all the pocket comics in there as well: I remember playing with those when I was younger, they were one of my favourite toys so much so that when I grew up (In the loosest possible sense) I hunted for the MOC ones.
I bet moving house is killer as well.
Do you know what you're gonna end up doing with your collection?
Thank you. I did move about 3 years ago and it wasn't too bad. I was able to pack up everything in about a week, bought a lot of bubble wrap and nothing was broken. I hope I don't have to move for a long time.
I don't really think about getting rid of my collection. My kids enjoy it, they know the characters, they show their friends, I'm sure one of them will inherit it one day. Or my wife will threaten me to take her on some year long cruise so I'll have to sell it then, who knows.
