Marvel Studios, Director Joe Johnston and
Heatvision have now confirmed that a deal is done — Chris Evans is Captain America.
The casting search for Steve Rogers & The First Avenger: Captain America has finally come to the end after weeks of speculation of who would be playing the part.
Marvel started with a list of potentials actors who they felt could play the part including John Krasinski, Scott Porter, Mike Vogel, Michael Cassidy, Patrick Flueger, Chace Crawford and Garret Hedlund.
The list dropped down to Mike Vogel, Garrett Hedlund, with Chris Evans, Wilson Bethel, Ryan Phillippe and Channing Tatum being added to the potential list.
We reported a few days ago that Evans was offered the role, but due to the numbers of movies he would have to agree to do and the low cut salary of only $300,000. At the time, it was not a confirmed deal but Evans figures it's good enough for his career
and he accepted.
Filming is set to begin at the end of June in the UK.
