Joss Whedon To Rewrite "Avengers" Script?!?

Jay Cochran - April 14, 2010
Following yesterday's news that Joss Whedon was in final negotiations to direct the upcoming "Avengers" movie for Marvel Entertainment, it is now being reported that Whedon also plans to rewrite the script that was originally penned by Zak Penn.

Penn has previously worked on such Marvel based movies as X-Men 2, X-Men: Last Stand and Incredible Hulk.

We should point out that all of this may just be rumor and that Whedon hasn't even been officially confirmed as the movies director, let alone already rewriting the script, but as we learn more we will be sure to pass it along to you.

"The Avengers" will star Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. Look for it to hit theaters on May 4, 2012.
