Could Kevin Pennington Be Playing The Character Of Rick Jones?!?

Continuing our investigation into what role actor Kevin Pennington might be playing in an upcoming Marvel-based movie, we have uncovered a few more clues to bring you. First Kevin himself has once again provided a new clue on his Twitter page. He has revealed that in fact he will not be playing Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Avengers,

"My big movie deal is NOT as Clint Barton/Hawkeye in the Avengers. Can't wait to tell you more though... Renner would be excellent btw... :)"

On top of that, we have received more clues from our "Insider Source" who sent us a list of character choices, one of which we assume is supposed to be the role Kevin will be playing. Now keep in mind that we still have not been able to confirm the validity of the information this "Insider Source" is providing us, so we ask that you continue to treat anything from this person with a somewhat "grain of salt," until such time as we are able to get an official confirmation. Anyway the list provided to us, is as follows;

- Clint Barton
- Rick Jones
- Alex Summers
- Noh-Varr
- Samuel Guthrie

Now we should note a couple of things. First this list was sent to us before Kevin himself ruled out Clint Barton. So right off the bat, we can scratch him off the list.

Moving on, most of you will probably recognize the names of Alex Summers and Samuel Guthrie as those of characters from X-Men lore. Alex who is also known as Havok and the brother of X-Men leader Scott Summers and Samuel who is also known as Cannonball and a member of the mutant team known as The New Mutants. Though we couldn't say for certain, neither seem likely characters to appear in an Avengers based movie.

Noh-Varr who is a member of the alien race known as the Kree and also goes by the name of Marvel Boy perhaps is more likely a candidate than the mutants, but still really doesn't seem a likely fit to us.

The leaves the final name on the list, Rick Jones! For those not familiar with this character, in the comics, Rick is basically the one responsible for Bruce Banner becoming the Hulk, and has also had very close ties with Steve Rogers, AKA Captain America over the years. Most recently in the comics Rick was transformed into the new Abomination who goes by the name of A-bomb. Though in the comics, Rick was never a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. or the Avengers, it is pretty easy to see how he could make that leap in the movie universe, especially as a member of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Again we just want to note, by no means are we calling any of this a confirmation of any type, but wanted to pass on the clues we have been given up to this point. Once, or when we get any kind of official confirmation on any of this, we will be sure to pass it on to you.
