Marvelous News' Q&A With Hasbro's Marvel Brand Team
Jay Cochran - May 27, 2010
Marvelous News: The light up bases that come with the Target exclusive "Hall of Armor" Iron Man figures are really cool, but for some who already own the figures that come with the bases, it's hard to justify the cost of buying the same figures again. Has there been any thought to selling the basses separately in sets or selling them with new figures not previously released on single cards?
Hasbro: We are always exploring new opportunities to meet the needs of our fans. Unfortunately, we have no plans to sell the light-up bases separately.
Marvelous News: In a previous Q&A you stated the following in regards to Marvel Universe variants;
"Part of the fun of running changes are the elements of surprise. We will inform the community more of the variants to come, along with past variants. We are looking at various ways to list/announce these figure variants"
Why is this so difficult? Why can't you simply provide, say us for this Q&A a list of the variants and an estimated release schedule? I don't think most collectors find it fun not knowing when or where, or even if these things will be released. It's not fun having to drive all over the place and not find what your looking for. Its not fun wasting time and gas which is very expensive these day looking for things that might not even exist.
Hasbro: While some fans like the element of surprise, we also know that there are fans, such as yourself, who want to know information sooner so that you can plan accordingly. We are currently preparing a list that will be released incrementally to help you plan your purchases.
Marvelous News: Will we see a Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan figure for your Iron Man 2 line? Favreau seems to be a pretty big fan of the toys and we couldn't help but notice certain Hasbro Iron Man role-play helmets appear more than once in the new movie, so we couldn't help but wonder if you planed to immortalize the esteemed director in plastic form anytime soon?
Hasbro: This is a great idea, but unfortunately we have no plans at this point in time to create a Jon Favreau figure as Happy Hogan.
