Stanley Tucci Joins The Cast Of Captain America: The First Avenger

Marvel Studio's today confirmed that actor Stanley Tucci (Julie & Julia) has joined the cast for "Captain America: The First Avenger." Tucci will be playing the character of Dr. Abraham Erskine who in the comics was the German scientist who created the super-soldier serum which turned the scrawny Steve Rogers into Captain America.

Joe Johnston is directing and the movie will star Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Cap), Hugo Weaving (Red Skull), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), and Tommy Lee Jones

"Captain America: The First Avenger" will open in the U.S. on July 22, 2011.
