A Deal For Robert Rodriguez To Direct "Deadpool" Movie Close To Happening?

by Jay Cochran
July 31, 2010
Following news we told you about back in June about "Machete" director possibly looking to direct the upcoming X-Men spin-off "Deadpool" movie from 20th Century Fox, we now have word thanks to the LA Times that Rodriguez and his people have entered into more serious negotiations with the studio to make this happen.

According to the Times, there is no deal yet, and the sides need to agree on a number of key points, but it's moved beyond the casual discussion stage and into the more substantive realm of deal points.

The movie will be based on the Ryan Reynolds portrayal of the Marvel Comics character as seen in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine", and no details about the plot or if a script is even currently being worked on at this time have been revealed.
