2011 NYCC: The Avengers Panel Highlights

The panel for Marvel's "The Avengers" at the New York Comic-Con just ended and was hosted by Chris Hardwick with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smuldes, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo. "The Avengers" hit theaters in 2D and 3D on May 4th, 2012 and below are the panels transcript highlights.

Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr. are shooting other movies which is why they are absent.

"Loki is not a happy man and anyone who saw Thor will know he's confused in his place in the universe." - Tom

Cobie Smuldes talked about her costume and how easy it was get in and out of and move around in.

Clark Gregg said he had no idea that he was going to play such a large part in the Marvel Universe. He was called up for "Iron Man 2" and "Thor" and also the "Avengers."

Mark Ruffallo talking about playing Bruce Banner - Bill Bixby for his Bruce Banner but he's also incorporating stuff he learned from watching Eric Bana and Ed Norton.

He joked with Norton that Bruce Banner is going to be this generation's Hamlet where everyone gets to play him.


Footage starts with a confrontation between Banner and Natasha Romanoff in India where Fury has sent her to find him. Shows Stark Tower where Stark is talking with Loki. Fury has called upon Banner to help him examine the Cosmic Cube or 'Tesseract.' Shows Tony Stark working next to Banner in the labs and zapping him then complimenting him that he didn't Hulk out when he was zapped to which Captain America asks, "Is everything a joke to you?" New footage is shown as an introduction to the members with Stark doing a head count and it shows off each member of the team.


Ruffalo says that with motion capture he's the only actor who was able to play both Bruce Banner and the Hulk.

Chris Evans likes to play Captain America over Human Torch.

After-scene will be shown after "The Avengers" credits.

Tom Hiddleston says Loki will adapt when fighting the Avenger members.

Kevin Feige talks about being in pre-production on "Iron Man 3" with Shane Black. He calls it Phase 2 of the Avengers initiative that will lead to 'Avengers 2.'

Kevin Feige mentions that Guardians of the Galaxy would be its own movie and they won't be introduced in any of the other movies.
