Sony Pictures have hired on Star Trek scribes Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci to rewrite the script for the sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man. The first draft was done by Amazing Spider-Man scribe James Vanderbilt and Sony wants to schedule production for the first quarter of 2013.
Kurtzman & Orci are credited for writing major movies with the likes of Star Trek and the Star Trek sequel, two Transformers films and Mission: Impossible III.
And speaking of The Amazing Spider-Man, director Marc Webb was on G4TV's Attack of the Show and confirmed that a new trailer for the movie will be attached with the trailer of The Dark Knight Rises before Marvel's The Avengers, beginning Friday, May 4th. Webb believes the trailer should hit the internet the following week.
The Amazing Spider-Man is scheduled for release in theaters and IMAX on July 3rd, 2012 in 3D and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, with Martin Sheen and Sally Field.
