I'm somewhat ashamed to say that I would 100% buy a Spider-MODOK for the Spider-Verse shelf.

Was the Alpha Flight not selling that well at Amazon that the exclusives that came after it are now harder to acquire at MSRP (ie. they ordered fewer)?

That tank top Hugh Jackman has never been in stock for the longest timeon .com nor .ca. Is this what's going to happen with that Callisto/Jason Wyngarde 5-Pack?

It could be possible.

Yeah i agree, con exclusives are best when they are either novelty/niche figures, or somehow represent characters that wouldn't get a mass retail figure either based on who the character is (e.g., Son of Satan) or the character's costume (the hellfire queens).

And i can understand whyfansarefrustrated at the idea that Excalibur might be a con exclusive, since you're options are shell out $50 for a pulse premium membership you might not otherwise use much, or order a set from the 2nd production run with might take 10 months (still better than not getting it at all, of course).

iirc Excalibur doesn't have characters in risque outfits like the HC club queens so it doesn't seem like the set couldn't just be an amazon exclusive. but then amazon is still trying to sell off alpha flight sets so maybe they just weren't into the idea of this box set vs the upcoming morewolverine centered one .

maybe we are all wrong and it will turn out to be a wave. but perhapsthe box set was more officially confirmed at some point and i just missed it or forgot about it

Cool? Meh, that's a bit of a stretch. Unique? You bet your sweet aunt Saddie. Unexpected? That's putting it lightly. Worth paying $73 for? That's all personal taste, i suppose. Not my jam, though.Random is the word that's most appropriate here, and dare I say it, perfect as an exclusive. This is the way it should be. Something different or quirky that hits a certain number of fans at different levels. Something they may like or want, yet something they can easily do without if they miss out. This is what Hasbro should be doing here. These "gotta have" exclusives from Walgreens and the most likely exclusive Excalibur set that's being teased are the kind of thing that's drives a lot of fans crazy. But feel free to do stuff like Rockabilly MODOK all day long.

Yeah, but last years Pulse Con exclusives were the figures originally intended as SDCC exclusives, and since SDCC and Pulse Con are both working the same way this year as last year, theres currently no evidence to suggest that we wont have the same situation this year with exclusives.

That's a lot of individual figures for one con

We don't know thatthey are from one con. Rockabilly M.O.D.O.K. and retro-carded Venom are PULSE-Con exclusives, which will be made available for pre-order in September. The prevailing thought about the Excalibur box set (if it's real) is that it will be a San Diego Comic Con exclusive; SDCC "takes place" at the end of this month.

EDIT: Yes, I'm aware that Hasbro won't have a physical presence at SDCC but they could still announce and release the box set before Pulse-Con. Dan Yun said July would be as big if not bigger than May with all of the Infinity Saga drops.

What's with all the MODOK figures as of late?

Including this abomination there's only been two. Of course if this gimmick sells well enough for Hasbro, there'll be more.

A number of fans here equate the figures probability of being made to movie/tv shows. I don't hold with that because the entire line was based off comics and what fans wanted. Plainly the MCU has had a big role so there's no denying that, but I don't see the Hulu show having anything to do with this. Its a unique mold and they wanna make money off it, besides they can have some fun with this kind of thing.

This make me think; is the Excalibur set also a Con "exclusive?" That seems like a lot of product to make "exclusive" to something.Elvis MODOKCaptainSTAS Retro Venomand then*Presumably*Captain BritainMegganShadowcat & LockheedRachelNightcrawler
