TNI Spotlights: Marvel Legends Series II
Marvel
by Jay Cochran
September 18, 2002
With Toy Biz's second series of Marvel Legend figures weeks away from be released, ADC is proud to bring you a detailed look at the upcoming figures.
Dr. Doom is the Fantastic Four's arch-enemy and now he is immortalized in plastic with a new action-figure that has over 30 points of articulation. Doom comes with a castle base, gun that can be removed from his holster, removeable mask and cape. There is also a Doombot chaser figure for this wave. The only difference being when you remove the mask you will see the face belonging to one of Doom's Doombots. You can also see in the pictures above that under Doom's cape he has jet thrusters to rocket him away from danger.
Prince Namor The Savage Sub Mariner who has been both friend and foe of the Fantastic Four comes with a stand that is made to look like the ocean waves that Namor resides in. He comes with a trident and you can see the detail that went into things like the wings on his ankles. The only thing that seems to be missing from this figure are the wings that are supposed to be attached under his arms as seen in the comic when he wore his black outfit. Otherwise this is a most impressive rendition of the Prince of Atlantis.
The ever blue eyed Thing comes with a breakable wall base. His fingers have wires in them that allows you to bend them in different positions. With the release of this figure your wave 1 Hulk will finally have someone to play with. Speaking of the Hulk, there will be a new version of this figure released in later wave II assortments. This version of the Hulk (Not Shown) will have blue pants and a torn white shirt made of cloth. He will also have a darker green skin tone.
The final figure to be released in the second wave of Marvel Legend figures is the Human Torch from the Fantastic Four. He comes with a red translucent stand that gives the impression of him flying through the air with a trail of flame behind him. As you can see his Fantastic Four 4 symbol shows through his flames.
All the figures in this wave like the previous Marvel Legends wave comes with a Marvel Comic book. Look for these figures to start hitting shelves in the next couple of weeks.
