Sideshow Announces A New Line Of Classic Bronze Statues

Jay Cochran - September 21, 2012
Sideshow Collectibles invites you to explore a new and unique collection of statues, Sideshow Classics. Celebrating the most iconic characters of today’s popular culture, each presentation focuses on gestural quality and raw sculptural aesthetic, by utilizing either traditional bronze or cold cast bronze mediums. Traditional foundry bronze delivers an unmistakable visual and sensory appeal, with its distinctive luster, substantial weight, and cool to the touch feel. We’re also employing a cold cast bronze technique, which integrates metallic powder and polystone, to create an affordable alternative to traditional bronze while preserving its inherent look and feel.

Bronze has long been regarded as a vaulted medium for figural art; its elegant simplicity allows the sculptor to convey the raw energy, movement and poise of the subject. On our mission to celebrate the richness of character in bold defining statements; our artists have tackled the titans of pop culture, capturing in sculpture the heroes and villains whose spirit and personality are so ingrained in our memory.

Wolverine will be released first followed by Spider-Man and Iron Man.

A long-lived mutant with the rage of a beast and the soul of a samurai, James “Logan” Howlett’s past is filled with blood, war, and betrayal. Possessing an accelerated healing factor, enhanced senses, and bone claws that along with his skeleton are coated in adamantium, Wolverine is the ultimate weapon.
