With the lack of any news regarding Hasbro's 3.75" Marvel Universe line at this past weekends New York Comic Con and the slow release of product this year, we thought we would compile this list of things we know about that have not been released yet. Basically we want to just refresh everyone's memory, including our own of what we still have to look forward to.
For basic figures we have two more waves for 2012 that have yet to be released and one for 2013.
Wave 20 includes:
- Puck
- Angel
- Hercules
- Nova
- Nighthawk
Confirmed for
Wave 21:
- Professor Xavier
- Blastarr with a clear blasting hands variant
- Jubliee
Wave 22:
- Elektra
- Mysterio
- Rhino
Wave 22 was originally supposed to be the first wave released for 2013.
It should be noted some of these figures saw a brief release overseas but then got held back. Most likely to allow time for waves 18 and 19 (which just recently saw release here in the states) time to saturate shelves.
Next up are the
Team 3-Packs
- Uncanny X-Men with Rogue, Longshot, Wolverine and X-Baby Cyclops
- The Inhumans with Blackbolt, Karnak and Medusa
- X-Men with Colossus as Juggernaut, Emma Frost and Cyclops
For
Comic 2-Packs:
- Captain America/70's Deco Falcon
- Doctor Strange/Silver Surfer
- Colossus/Maskless Juggernaut
- Ant Man/Moon Knight
It should be noted that these 2-packs have seen limited release already. Most etailers have all of these in stock except for the Ant Man/Moon Knight one which saw a brief release overseas but has since disappeared. It's unclear if that one has been canceled or will see release down the road.
Marvel Masterworks:
- Orange Fing Fang Foom - This one was originally slated to be released as a San Diego Comic Con exclusive this past year but got pulled in favor of them releasing the Avengers Hellicarrier. Hasbro has said they are exploring other avenues of getting this one released, but as of now it is in limbo.
Other figures that have been confirmed by Hasbro as in the works but not yet listed for any particular wave are as follows:
- Black Knight
- Thor in armor
- Thor Frog
- Death's Head which was teased as a 2013 release. It should be noted we don't know which version of the character they plan on releasing.
So as you can see there is still plenty of Marvel Universe product yet to come, which we know about. Hasbro's likely reason for not announcing anything more at NYCC was because they want to get caught up with releasing everything already announced. At SDCC Hasbro admitted that the release of many of their Marvel Universe product this year had gotten delayed due to the influx of all the other Marvel related product coming out, such as Marvel Legends, Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man. They however said this problem was being worked on and that we would start seeing more Marvel Universe stuff hitting store shelves soon.
In recent months we have seen the release of the first two basic waves slated for 2012 as well as a number of comic 2-packs. Though not confirmed, we speculate that we will likely see the release of wave 20 by the end of the year with wave 21 getting pushed back to early 2013. Hopefully come February we will see things back on track and Hasbro will have a slew of new Marvel Universe product to announce at the New York Toy Fair.
