Marvel Legends Thunderbolts Punisher Variant In The Works?!?

In-hand images for Hasbro's second series of Marvel Legends figures for 2013 have surfaced on eBay courtesy of Viperskingdom. Among the figures he has listed is what appears to be a variant of the 2012 Wave 3 Punisher figure with a red Punisher skull symbol, similar to what the character wears in the current Thunderbolts title. The skull on this figure is obviously unfinished as the figure is likely some sort of pre-production sample. It is unclear if a Thunderbolts version of The Punisher will be released or not and if it is, the bigger question most collectors will likely have is why would they make this variant before releasing the already announced wave 3 variants which included Blade and Moonstar? We will likely hear more about all of this from Hasbro next month at San Diego Comic Con so stay tuned.
