Jean And Storm Joining Hasbro's New Marvel Legends X-Men: Animated Series Anniversary Line, But What About Morph???

by Jay Cochran
October 25, 2021
This past weekend at Pulse-Con Hasbro officially announced a new Marvel Legends sub-line for 2022 that would be celebrating the original release of the X-Men: Animated Series which debuted on Fox back in October 1992. These figures are being released as HasbroPulse/ShopDisney exclusives.

The first two figures announced for this line were Wolverine and Jubliee which went up for pre-order on the Pulse website on Saturday.

Henry points out that in the figure descriptions for the Wolverine and Jubilee figures on the Pulse site it mentions that Storm and Jean Grey will also be joining the line.

Look for more Marvel Legends X-Men action figures inspired by the classic animated series, including Jubilee, Storm, and Jean Grey (Additional figures each sold separately. Subject to availability)

We can assume both of these figures will be variations of the Jim Lee versions we've already gotten in the Marvel Legends line similar to what we saw with Wolverine and Jubilee.

So will that be it or does Hasbro have more figures planned for this line beyond the 4? Honestly we have know idea but it seems to me that if Hasbro doesn't give fans an Animated Series Morph figure, it will be a huge missed opportunity. Morph is a character who made his debut in the Animated Series before any version of him appeared in the comics. If you are going to celebrate the Anniversary of the series, how could you not include the one character exclusively made for that series?

While the X-Men Animated Series version of Morph did have a 5" figure done by Toy Biz back in the day, the character has never appeared in 6" Marvel Legends form even though he is one that has been repeatedly asked for by fans over the years.

Like I say, I have no idea how many actual figures Hasbro has planned for this Anniversary line or if Morph will be one of them, but I would be pretty surprised if he isn't. Of course if he is coming I am sure he will be the final figure announced for it.

I wonder if they are gonna do Psylocke, Colossus or Angel since they never been part of the main cast.

Archangel could be possible, it was a prominent guest star and had his own story arc. Colossus was another prominent guest star especially early on but he never actually wore his costume and his storyline was quickly abandoned. Psylocke is unlikely as she only turned up right at the end.

Another would be de-iced Iceman in his blue X-Men uniform. Toy-biz did it as a variant. I wish I had that.

That's actually one of my fave Bobby Drake looks.

Me too. I believe she actually wore that in the comics as well, while in Russia fighting the Soul Skinner, if I'm not mistaken. I think it's in X-Men 17. I would like that version.

Yea I think I've seen the comic panel. Looks like Andy Kubert art.

Would love a redeco-ed Ms. Marvel figure!

Along with Savage Land Green Fatigued Xavier.

I know this "Jim Lee" Jubilee was a good chance for others who missed it the first time and I know this is an unpopular opinion but I would've wanted her white and pink overalls with the brown Jacket that she wore in the Omega Red episode.

Not gonna happen, but I would love a redo of the Carol Danvers Ms. Marvel. She IS a major part of Rogue's origin, plus the tooling already exists.

I figure that gives her a slightly better chance than most of the pipe dreams on this thread. Just throw some of that crap cell-shading on an old 3-pack Danvers and slap it in a VHS box.

No, he wasn't.

I never read your book, but I'll see your Eric Lewald, and raise you Supervising Producer/Executive in Charge of Production of X-Men, Winston Richard from Comic Scene #30, Dec. 1992.

I've never read Comic Scene #30, but according to Eric Lewald'sPreviously on X-Men: The Making of an Animated Series,Morph is Changeling.

That's is what I have read and that's what I'm going with.
