Like classic 80s Cyclops, every time Scarlet Spidey gets a release he climbs to ridiculously high secondary market prices. Not sure what it is about certain figures but these two at least always seem to be scarce

I think it's because it's the first appearance of him. It's probably what many people, like myself who read comics in the 90s, remember most from the Clone Saga.

I would just use a molded piece like the previous version. Soft Goods would be awful if the Spider-Man Classics Scarlet Spider was anything to go by

Yeah that hard plastic stuff worked good with previous less articulates Scarlet Spidey, but it might be hard to make it look good with implementation of butterfly shoulders and additional torso cut, I mean it could work in theory but potentially would make it look ugly. That's why I'm personally leaning towards soft plastic overlay like MU version had but that also has some issues, like how soft is plastic itself, can it accommodate all the range of motion without ripping or/and disintegrating in the long run.

Ok, so rererelease it

The Rhino BAF wave came out a bit before I started collecting and I missed out on the retro. Either version is crazy expensive now on the secondary market. A new one on the retro Spiderman packaging would be awesome.

Heard this guy was hard to find in the wild but also heard GameStop was accidentally shipping Ben Reilly in place of the ToyBiz Homage Captain America. Crazy

I think OG Scarlet Spidey does need updated on retro body. But to make this new figures stand out Hasbro should give it soft goods hoodie a try or using soft plastic/rubber overlay piece that will allow for articulation, If I'm not mistaken they already used soft plastic hoodie for 3 3/4 Inch Scarlet Spider.

Yeah, that Ben head sculpt needs to be issued again too. I know a lot of people were a little disappointed it didn't come with the recent Ben Reilly Retro figure.

Yeah, it should have been. Though for a new Scarlet Spider, they should have a scruffy Ben, since he didn't go blonde until he became Spider-man

I won't be surprised if they do a new version done the line. Maybe with a scruffy Ben from the clone Saga head
