Things continue to look grim for
Hasbro's latest Haslab campaign for the
Marvel Legends Engine of Vengeance Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider And Car set.
Normally people look in on these campaigns to see how high the backer count has gotten, but with this one it's become more about seeing how low is it going to go.
As of
Friday (9/23) night the campaign had reached
6,118 backers which was still 2882 short of the minimum 9k backers needed for this project to move into production. When people realized that the
Early Bird 6" Marvel Legends Robbie Reyes (Human Form) figure was not going to be included, that prompted people who had already backed it to start canceling their orders.
As of this reporting (9/26), the campaign now sits at
5,617 Backers. Since Friday at midnight ET the campaign has
lost over 500 backers, and the counter still seems to be moving in the wrong direction.
Back on the 20th
Hasbro revealed the campaign's
first stretch goal, which was for a
7" Marvel Legends Mephisto figure that would only be included if the campaign reached
12k backers by the end of October 31, 2022. That's the date the campaign actually ends. Hasbro likely had additionally stretch goals planned for this one and they had told us all the stretch goals would be for
6" Marvel Legends figures.
Hasbro over the weekend said they would not extend the deadline for the
Early Bird figure nor would they be making any more reveals for the campaign. So at this point it is seeming more and more unlikely we will ever know what the remaining stretch goals for this one would have been or if it was items that would have drastically changed the final outcome of the campaign.
We obviously can't predict the future, so I can't sit here and tell you at this point that this campaign is a failure, however based on the current downward trend this campaign has been experiencing, it's hard not to think this one is going to fail, especially if Hasbro does nothing to try and reverse course on it between now and October 31.
